Because im starting to think CCP is working on their "unfinished" tooltip symbols *cough* new game modes *cough* than fixing those other... uh... flying bugs, you speak of.
So, lets pretend we know what this "command node" thingy is. A bunch of eve pilots are here to f*ck up our plans to take the district. Lets say we took it. Then we found out they were going to buttf*ck us with their orbitals. We have to shoot them out of the sky, right? Fight fire with fire!
There's a command node, EVE pilots hire a bunch of mercenaries to defend the command node. The mercenaries die, we take it, then they get blown out of the sky by a huge-ass railgun. Sounds like a command node to me anyway...

A command node to me sounds like anything that sends a command to something -- from shooting an orbital cannon to flipping off the outside lights, to me a command node is simply a light switch with a cool name.

If I remember correctly Command nodes were part of Skirmish 1.0. Its not a symbol of the future, but the past.

Most EVE pilots NEVER ORBIT A PLANET TO BEGIN WITH! So your argument is moot. The only ones that do so are already interacting with your game (orbitals) and already know the risks.

MCC = Mobile Command Center
According to the lore, the MCC emits an anti-kill signal to keep clones from running around outside of the designated field. This is why you flop over dead whenever you're in the red-line for too long.
So, my sarcastic speculation would be that the command node is an installation which expands the playable area so you can go into the enemies redline and further secure your pubstomping capabilities.

Actually if you watch the VERYVERYVERY early first time they showed anything for DUST videos at a fanfest when they were still developing it for the XBOX, the demo they show has the deve run into a building to hack a command node. It's a leftover thing that they never cleaned up.
However they are probably now thinking of new things it could represent instead, so good catch for you as it will spur them on to more new stuff soonGäó. ;)

When I first downloaded uprising and saw the symbol in the loading screen, i got super excited.
Then I was super disapointed.....
The new commandos should have a better paint job. Look at the Amarr one!
Please bring back the Warbage!

Im not talking just orbiting, Im talking any danger at all Ask them what they think of the idea of merc boarding parties and youll get excuses as to why it cant and shouldnt happen when really the idea of running around in a titan wrecking systems is a great idea

Unless its YOUR titan.
Since Eve stuff happens in real time, it would be very hard to coordinate and Eve originated boarding action fought be dust mercs. Unless maybe they would be satisfied with random teams of mercs for both attack and defense. Which I doubt they would be.
It doess sound like tons of fun if it worked well though.

The command node was a part of skirmish 1.0. A game mode they need to bring back. The attacking mercs had to capture it to access null cannons. Hopefully it will return as it added an extra layer of tactics. Also we need corp contracts back. Not PC but the ones where you brought them for isk. This would give the pubstompers an extra mode to fight. |

LOL, will never happen. Station boarding however, would be more welcome. |

If you look when loading into a game, a command node symbol is placed on the planet to represent where you are fighting. Not saying they won't bring it into a new/updated game mode, just saying that it is being used.

Im not talking just orbiting, Im talking any danger at all Ask them what they think of the idea of merc boarding parties and youll get excuses as to why it cant and shouldnt happen when really the idea of running around in a titan wrecking systems is a great idea There are many reasons why this can't and shouldn't happen.
1. It would take a level design team the size of CCP Shanghai decades to model the interior of just one titan. And there are 4 of them.
2. The disk space required to store a map that size would fill up the harddrive of a PS7 let alone a PS3 or 4.
3. Even if we had 1000 v 1000 player battles, you could run around in a titan for hours and never see another enemy player. I really don't think you understand how massive they are.
4. The only practical way to handle this would be to map 0.00001% of the thing, and that's pretty lame.
5. How do you feel about playing DUST in a 10-1 slowdown called TiDi? Because that's what happens in EVE with huge super cap fights. Permanent bullet-time doesn't sound like much fun to me.
6. There are many other reasons why this is dumb from a strategic standpoint.
Best PvE idea ever!

Its the place where you are supposed to stand with your commando (MCC), because the suit is too bad to use in the match.

The show was a tad bit faced paced, but I guess it ended somewhat decently.
