camp camp camp camp...you'll probably win. This is one of the major issues this game has.

While you're not wrong... what's the difference between "camping" and "defending the objective"?

I leave games my team will clearly win if it looks like the enemy is just goin to camp/defend from rooftops, even if we are holding the objective. It's not fun trying to engage enemies that only want to be engaged from 50m+ when you have the objective that they don't care about. I'd say this is an issue mainly because it makes the game boring, not because camping is occasionally the easiest way to ensure victory |

wikipedia wrote:camping is a tactic where a player obtains a static strategic position of advantage. This behaviour manifests in different ways depending on the underlying nature of the game (online text adventure, graphical MMO, first-person shooter, etc.), but invariably involves a player waiting in one location for the game (or other players of the game) to do something which they can take advantage of, often repeatedly. That camping is often seen as a method for circumventing much of the effort usually required to acquire a desired reward makes the activity contentious
this is exactly what I mean.
I have to camp if you want to defend an objective, yes. People used to camp in games like MAG and it was ok, it was part of the game: there was hundreds of ways to kill the campers, it wasn't a problem, and of course, 4 campers wouldn't have made the difference in the match.
But take a look at Dust: by just standing there you gain a tremendous advantage over your enemies. Skills needed = 0, SP needed, a couple millions. It is like if there was a certain spot in the map, a certain glitch, where you can shoot your enemies when they try to hack, but they can't shoot you back / it's much harder to shoot you back.

This is why any and all rooftops need to be made accessible via multiple pathways. OR any rooftop that doesn't have a ladder or staircase needs to be made "redline" to both teams and destroy any equipment dropped.
Or all these locations need to have alternate methods. some areas have no ground access or only 1 staircase in a certain socket that can easily be defended and there's no other way to get up and kill the uplinks without a dropship. Fracture road at the staircase between H 6-7 and I 6-7 to be specific.
This games an example of some of the worse Map design I've ever seen. Unreachable highgrounds is a big reason why.
