I'm just curious if anyone else refuses to skill into these. I've had more than enough opportunity to skill into them over the past two years, I simply never have as they feel insanely easy and kind of negates the fun of being good at cooking grenades. Amusingly, CCP nerfs grenades by not touching the strongest ones, in classic fashion.
So, just curious, does anyone else avoid skilling into these like the plague, or am I just a masochist?

My AV/RE combo fit requires proto AV Nades. In addition, the high shield tanking scouts and the very high number of heavies in addition to the reduction of clip size for grenades has completely nerfed the core locus indirectly. BUT Proto flux nades are disgusting and if you do dom you are aware of the map where "A" is under ground same with the supply depot then a proto flux can completely clean out both rooms of equipment and RE's. |

I've skilled up to level 4, and have tried using M8 grenades.
I have yet to get 1 kill with them. really pisses me off.
Maybe I should move up to core locus
Screw "skill". If I wanted skill, i wouldnt be using grenades!!
Gimme a contact fused grenade that doesnt cost aurum, dangit!!

Two things. If you learn how to cook grenades you can absolutely increase your game ability by 10 fold easily. In addition, cooking fluxes are very important if you are trying to help AV and need to get rid of a vehicles shields. Not to mention if you lean to cook a flux well you can even take out Drop Ship shields. AND on top of all that, if you get REALLY good (like myself) you can occasionally time one to blow up on the guy in the LAV who's driving around. yes, while he/she is driving.
Second thing is that the ISK thukker contact nade only has 1 for it's clip size since the nerf. It's pointless. |

I despise my heavy with a passion, but I have to admit: killing a cocky python pilot with a couple well cooked fluxes followed up by my HMG is simply glorious. Sure, it's far more his lack of skill than my skill that gets him dead, but it's a wonderful experience regardless.
<3 cooking grenades, it's ALWAYS the first skill I master in FPS games that allow it.

I hardly ever put a grenade on my loadout. Perhaps a Flux grenade for enemy equipment in hard to reach spot is about it. |

If I'm cooking I grenade, then I am
1. NOT running
2. NOT shooting
3. Making an annoying beeping sound.
Any of these things I would find detrimental. All 3 is just horrible.
So, it doesnt work for me

With only two in the load out the proto nades just aren't worth the fitting cost let alone the ISK, they barely were with three. M1's or M8's do the job just as well. Might go back to locus nades now that I can't kill LAV's with two AV nades. Save for tank hunting suits.
Your game f'ing sucks, but I'll still play it.... damn you!

I only use Flux Grenades when I have an HMG, I'm just too good at landing grenades exactly where and when I want them to give up the killing power of my trusty M8's

I only use the basics. Mainly because Fluxes have the easiest fitting costs. Even with near maxed fitting skills the CPU/PG has always has more valuable uses. Maybe someday in the far future if my Combat Engineer ALT skills up SMGs.

For some reason on multiple occasions a standard locus grenade has failed to take out an uplink despite landing right next to it so cores aren't gonna change much with that and that's what I mainly throw my grenades at, so as with others I carry flux. |

I'm at like... 37+m SP and I don't have core nades. I wouldn't be able to fit them on my suits so why bother?

I've not actually found core locus to be much of a problem. It's irritating on occasion when the target knows how to cook properly, but it's been a while since I've felt they were ridiculous.
Grenades have, conveniently, taken quite a few nerfs lately. Core locus grenades aren't quite the nuclear baseballs of old - they're effective, but not completely ridiculous.
Mind you, I haven't been using much other than flux lately so I could be quite wrong and just have been meeting people who can't cook the things properly.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

I haven't specked into Grenade LVL 5 for lack of a reason but I'm starting to think my forge gun fit needs Lai Dai Packed AV grenades
So its on my road map right after I finish rounding out my Gunnlogi fitting.

I find grenades to wasteful isk and cpu/pg wise plus I'm in a scout suit so what's the point when I can easily get the first hit off.

Only run basic flux nades. I'm carrying much more valuable stuff to waste precious pg/cpu on anything higher. I use flux to take out EQ but lately I've been just running up and meleeing EQ so I feel its a tool I'm not using as much as I could be.
