Is anyone else tired of our free fittings having AR's when you aren't Gallente? Caldari needs their rail rifles, Amarr their scrambler rifles, Minmatar needs their... slingshots or whatever the hell they use.
That goes for sidearms as well.
Will we see these free fittings updated soon? This is probably causing a lot of confusion and misspent SP by new players.

Gallente makes the most reliable weapons on the battlefield. Do we really want new players unfortunate enough to choose Amarr burning suiciding when they burn there hands in a firefight? |

A.) That's the Amarr weapon system so they will need to get used to it if they are going to stay in the Amarr dropsuits.
B.) From a lore perspective, why would the Caldari and Amarr issue out their enemy's weaponry?
C.) CCP could make a MIL version of the scrambler rifle that does less damage to the wielder on overheat.

Minmatar aren't advanced enough for slingshots.
They just throw dirt at you and hope you die.

Don't count on it. As I understand it, all starter fits have to made from Militia gear. With very limited Militia gear, this can't happen. As CCP has failed to add Militia gear in.. a year (its probably been a lot longer, but, I'm not so great with the passage of time), so, no racially aligned starter fits...

I hope we will get more MIL variants soon. MIL variants are crucial to allowing players to experiment with weapons before dumping SP into things.

CCP just needs to make militia variants of ALL weapons and items. Redo the militia fits to reflect racial pistols/weapons. Yes, there'd most likely have to be militia variants of the assault versions of the rifles (so new players aren't "stuck" or off put by the single-fire nature of scrambler rifles or combat rifles). But, if the assault militia variants are only available in the free starter fits, that should still provide plenty of incentive to skill into the racial weapon if you want a "true" ADV-tier or higher assault variant of the racial rifle.
But OT, racial starter fits really need to have their racial weapons. Gallente need AR/Ion pistols, Amarr need SCR/SCP, Caldari RR/Bolt, and Minmatar need CR/Flaylock (yes, Flaylock).

Right. The scrambler rifle isnt exactly noob friendly. The AR is like the guns you find in games like battlefield or COD. Those who have played FPSs before will be familiar with a gun like the AR. I don't think new players would like the delay in the rail rifle, or the burst shots of the combat rifle, and they would easily dislike the overheating mechanic of the scrambler rifle. The only way I see to achive fully racial starter fits, without ruining the NPE even further, would be to remodel the AR into other racial rifels and give each one small deferences pertaining to its race. Thats what I think anyways. Id like to see what other people come up with.
I'd say walk in my shoes for a day, but you probably still won't understand.

Educating them on the different racial weapon systems would be key to this change.
I guess the NPE itself would have to be revamped before the free fittings can be updated. That will happen approximately two Fridays after next forever.
