Today i skilled into HAVs. I tried out the 3 repairs on the low slots. Its insane! You have to be very very unlucky to lose your HAV with this fitting. I ended with actually trying to lose it. It took 1 railgun HAV, 1 forge gun and multiple Swarm launchers in a outpost to take me down. And the only resin they made it was i stopped moving.
What now??
a)give vehicle armor repairs a delay?
b)give vehicle armor repair a stocking penalty?
c)leave it as it is. You don't lose your HAV but you can't stay to long at the same point.
Whats your opinion on that? |

if a single rail couldn't kill you, it wasn't doing it's job right at all.
I wouldn't had believed you if you said a missile HAV.

Repair tanks are good against all low Alpha Damage attacks, and with skill can survive even mid-range damage. Against any high Alpha Damage attack they die easily. Off the top of my head what can kill your tank in under 5 seconds:
2 Proto Forge-gunners
2 Proto Swarm launchers coordinating to launch at the same time
4 Militia Swarm launchers coordinating to launch at the same time
Remote Explosives (including properly used/luck proximity explosives)
Mixes of the above methods
A well fit damage focused rail tank
Any damage modded missile tank
A Proto large missile turret even without the damage mod.
The point I'm trying to make is that repair tanks are invulnerable to only certain types of attacks, against other types they actually die pretty easily. |

Both d) and e). But d) should take priority. 1.6 Madrugars had this window of opportunity CCP wants, but now they are going against that philosophy.
A Madrugar in 1.6 was most likely a dead Madrugar if caught with its armor rep on cooldown. A wise and skillful Madrugar pilot would know when to kick up that rep. There's no skill involved now if the reps are passive. Just drive back a little if you take too much damage and come back again at full health.
Make them active with 300+ hp/s, but also increase fitting costs so you can't have more than one rep without sacrificing a lot of fitting ability.
