If SP could be bought with ISK would you buy it? Also, what would be the value of SP in ISK?

as long as ccp arbitrarily makes constant changes to the way everything works sp is worthless
I have 28 mil sp atm and none of it is in the fotm. so theres 28 mil worthless sp... I've never really skilled into an fotm but I've always been able to be successful at what I do, however every new build I become a noob all over again and need to relearn and reevealuate how I play, and I'm still never as good as I was in the prior build.
so yeah, sp itsnt worth any isk, to me sp is only a testament to how much time I've wasted playing this crappy lobby shooter.
this game makes me sad....

Edit: If you could only buy off SP that you failed to acquire the previous week I would then approve of SP Purchases however!

-9001 for even suggesting it. I would never buy it, not even with AUR (well maybe a booster or two). SP is something that needs to be earned. And to be honest, we have it alot easier than capsuleers when it comes to earning SP.

How would CCP avoid the pay to win title if they did this? No one could deny it then... |

You can buy it, in Boosters. 4000 Aurum = > 95,000 SP So, if I were a Marketing man at CCP I might suggest selling 100,000 SP (with some BPCs, of course) for 5,000 Aurum.

I wasn't saying it would be good. Just wondering how the community would react if it happened.

my reaction, it would be a pay to win mechanic and the the last nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned.
I would delete my account. boosters are the closest it should ever get to buying sp.
this game makes me sad....

That's actually a very interesting way of doing things, why has no one suggested this before? Why don't you hop over to Feedback/ideas and make a post for this?

SP is worth less and less the more you have. If you have 2 million SP, getting the 400,400 you get a week from logging in and capping out is worth more than gold. Once you have 33+ million SP and have everything you want to do, it is not so important anymore. It is why boosters are said to be only so useful; you get to the point where having an extra 2 million SP would do little for you compared to what it would have meant 6 months before.
Getting a price is impossible but you can pull meaningless numbers from other numbers: 30 day Active and Passive Booster is 24k for both. That gives, just counting cap and assuming being able to cap out 5 times, an extra 360,000 Passive and 476,000 Active SP. Total is 34.8 SP per AUR. A Prototype Assault suit is 57,690 or 100 AUR. 1 AUR = 576.9 ISK.
1 SP = ~16.58 ISK. Completely and totally meaningless.
Buying SP should never be possible. I think even boosters are borderline on the "payment in to power out" bit. Of course, 8 million SP lets you generally max a single role. The power difference between an omni-soldier with 40 million SP and a laser focused Logistics player with 11 million SP is negligible. It is just that 40 Millionaire can do more things.

Well, we know that Templar sets go for around 300million.
We can work out how much similar BPOs sold for in aurum back when they were available. Maybe make an adjustment to account for the cosmetic appeal of the Templar gear.
But that should give you an isk:aurum exchange. You can work out an sp:aurum rate using the prices of boosters.
Now you have an isk:sp rate. It'll be imprecise, and somewhat subjective. But it'll get you a ballpark figure.
No.

I dunno. Once I max out the Scrambler Lance, I'll probably start skilling vehicles. It'll feel like starting all over again. The cores & basics alone will take me months.

SP for ISK would be a terrible idea.
All of the blue doughnut corps could buy hundreds of millions of SP if they wanted. Most of those corps already hold the majority of the high SP characters. It would just widen the SP gap between new and old players even more. |

Besides that this would only truly be needed for new players, most of which doesn't have disposable ISK. |

I say, if they ever impliment a rollover system, allow aurum purchase of the previous weeks sp. If you dont buy it by the following week, its no longer avail for purchase. That keeps those who cant poopsock in line with the rest of you, but keeps someone from buying months worth in one go and being totally wonkey.
