Looking at the player base right now, new game modes would only break it. We need to improve current game modes and get more maps.

But the current game modes are pushing new players away because 1) Academy is way to short and 2) as soon as they leave academy they join games getting Proto stomped because they still don't know how to play the game. If they were to add PVE at least the new players wouldn't be getting stomped every game and it would spice up the game for a little bit.
Off topic but if CCP were to create a tutorial that helped players get an understanding of the skill tree and after finishing it rewarding them with SP |

No, need to improve the players. PVE is needed first.

Ideally they would both feed into each other. PVE improves the player base by giving new players something to do, new players improve all game modes by rounding out the player count. Symbiosis is the name of the game here.

This is one of the first steps CCP needs to take to make the game more enjoyable, the other is to enhance the controls and fix the bugs Balancing and adding content can wait(my opinion but a lot of things are currently balanced). |

I know, I remember the trailer showing off Drones and thinking that would be awesome and then getting the game and it's not even their. I've been looking forward to Drones for a while and at this point in time would be the best time to add it. |
