Yeah, I think this is mostly an SP issue.
If you have the SP in vehicle upgrades and max racial/ADS skills, you'll probably do pretty well.
I've got everything at advanced, and as long as I'm not 1) pinched in a tight spot or 2) lagging after the first shot, I can usually save my Python. I run:
1 x Enhanced heavy shield extender
1 x Basic heavy shield extender
1 x Basic afterburner
1 x Complex PG upgrade
1 x Advanced missiles
It has 3244 shields (I think--definitely just over 3200) and maneuvers like a champ. The only really problems are rail tanks with damage stacked damage mods, or synchronized swarms/FGs.
Of course, I have horrible aim and am working on getting better at clearing infantry and equipment, but this setup is tough enough that I feel I get enough practice to actually improve.
If I had 1B+ ISK, I'd stock 100 and wouldn't think about it until I had 10 left.
My other dropsuit is a Python.

Leave the price where it's at. Theres already so many in the sky now a days, we don't need them nerfed.

I think you're missing the part where you have over one b-*******-illion ISK. I would be spending and giving that **** away like crazy lol

If I remember way back when, I believe I paid around a mil for ADS skill book and 2 mil I think for the Caldari Assault Dropships

the python is too weak i took it down with 3 damage mod turn ON my rail tank the incubus have a better chance of surviving .they should make the assault dropships strong its to weak and expensive |

a little tip on assault dropships users don't stay to much and killing people if you keep that up everyone will start bringing there forge swarm and or to crash there dropship on you for a 1 hit kill if you got some few kills and destroy uplinks thats enough that will help to make the team win if we stay to much killing they will be pisess haha |

You're complaining about that? My tanks cost near a mil each, and those weren't even PC grade tanks. Enforcers would cost over 2.2mil each at the higher ends.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

I do have to admit, they need a upgrade! A small bump on anything and I'm already on at least 1/2 of my Shield, I have a max of 2k shield. Regarding the prices, it's not 'noob-friendly' but then again, the Assault variants should only be flown in the hands of somebody
who's well used to flying a standard variant, or militia, and can safely land / take off. In my view, once a player has got this down, they then should be able to get an Incubus or a Python and be pleasantly suprised that it's easier to fly, making
them much more effective. At that stage, price shouldn't be an issue because if you fly right, you should be raking in the ISK, not burning it because you've put yourself and your ship in a high-risk situation.
Python pilot, troop-transport specialist and an all-round ballbag.

I lose roughly a million ISK in suits trying to kill each single ADS I encounter because they're so overpowered. The cost is pretty reasonable when you consider that even if someone kills your dropship, you still don't die, because they don't explode, and you have time to jump out and such.

They're not that hard to destroy, militia forges are fine. Most of the time that I get hit, and I'm going down, I usually die from my own dropship for some reason.

I'm 481K just for my turret and Frame on my tank...... not even including modules and small turrets.
