It goes against what New Eden is about, non-consensual PVP is the name of the game and by allowing us to set up matches that restrict others or playstyles they are screwing up how New Eden works. PC is a prime example of this. There is no way to fight when we want, we can only fight once a day at the time of the defenders choosing. That is the problem. I know this isn't EVE. In EVE, unless you are in a CCP tournament anyone can show up and do whatever they want with few restrictions.
Allowing us to make custom battles or have private servers is the opposite of what New Eden is about.

Allowing us to make custom battles or have private servers is the opposite of what New Eden is about. We have "private" fights all the time in EVE, what the hell else do you think it is when some jackass is in high sec with a container filled with some useless item advertising that he wants a fight, and some other jackass willingly picks the 1 isk item up up and starts a fight? Or the countless corp "duels" for testing out new fits, agreeing to stop once it gets into Hull.
We have a mechanic that allows us to fight without being concorded but it doesn't restrict a player from coming into the fight and very few items are restricted during that fight (I know that bubbles, bombs, capitals and titans are restricted but not many things are). Agreeing to stop is not setting up a private match that no one else can enter, once in space you can be attacked at any time by any pilot. It is not setting up "private matches for this with custom settings" because they don't every have to follow the rules if they don't want to and it is always public, you may only be fighting the one pilot you asked to duel but it is in live space and open for anyone to crash.

I want to have any type of 1v1 where you can 'test' things.
To the EVE want-nots: In EVE, there is hours of travel space on any axis to trave, leaving TONS of empty space for people to be 'secluded'
In DUST: everything is in a scripted match. Until i can post a public contract within a 400m vicinity of a PC battle, and then laugh as 16v16v16 happens, then STFU, HTFU, and stop crying, hopin to stop improvement.
A few stipulations: No gear lost. No ISK/SP gained, i don't care of your 55k WPz Costs Isk to enter- somewhere around 500-600k per 15minute match, shoud sufice.
Think of it as purchasing timed access to a Vr deck.
Edit: also the ability to hotswap team members, such as swapping my team's #13 for the other team's #10 to change things up, also # of teams and setting installation drops.
(Imagine 8v8v8v8)
If you are paying to use an area that offers no gain to the player, like a VR room, then I could accept that more than just having a private game. I disagree with not losing gear because there needs to be "real" loss involved with every battle. This is a game about war and being able to choose what item I can or can't use is not in the spirit of New Eden.
Being secluded is not the same as a private battle. At any point in time people can come into the secluded system and ruin the party. I am not trying to stop improvement, I am trying to stop this game from being a riskless private sever farm. Having a private battle area, again, is against every thing New Eden is about. You should not be able to play your own game without risk of others coming in a playing their game.
As far as 8v8v8v8, I don't like the current two sided way we have battles now, if you want to have allies on the field then make them blue but I shouldn't be forced to be allied on a side I don't even get to choose. One of the biggest problems with DUST is the total lack of choices. I can choose my SP placement, my fit and what kind of battle to play in a pub. Other than that I cannot choose whom to buy from, where to go, whom to fight with or even anything but PVP. There are no choices in this game that really make it fill like a sandbox.
New Eden is about choices and risk and this game only gives us risk and if we allow private, custom battles then there is less risk. You want to have a training area? Go into the red line and train there. I could accept a VR type training area but I still think it is a bad idea that caters to the people who are too afraid to risk their stuff to get better. I am not trying to insult anyone but it is just another scrub tactic to get out of losing to better skilled or better equipped players and I don't think it has any place in this game.

I think this is the best answer if you want a private battle, pay the price and anything goes. It is the best solution to the call for private battles. If your mercs can't follow the rules then kick them out. This is the closest thing we can get to choosing whom we fight and when.
If CCP wants to make the game good then they should seriously look into letting us choose where to go, if there is no one on the field then play with your friends or leave. FF on with no restrictions, if someone pops in a ruins your party then leave and try to find an empty system. No sides, no objective, no clone count, no time limit, no redline, and no hackable objects. Just a smart deploy and an open area to fight in. If NS drops in on AE and decides to fight with them then so be it. No rules just an open area to fight in. Give a player list of who is on the ground and that is it.
If you want spawn points then bring uplinks, if you want ammo then bring hives and if you don't like the players on the ground then don't spawn in and find somewhere else.
