Been really frustrated as of 1.8 with this constant getting killed when no one is around crap. Ignoring the cloaked scouts for now, what's the deal with walking up in a corner and a heavy suit being right there to blast your face. Why didn't my assault, or my scout, or my logistics or my commando suit pick up this heavy on the radar. What was the point of maxing out (lvl 5) all my passive scanning skills if they don't even save me from being blind to a heavy suit 10m around the corner?
What's the point of putting all those skill points into my character if they don't stop tanks or drop ships from being scanned.
I'm walking around completely blind most of the time. It's seriously frustrating because I would have never walked up that close to any of these suits/vehicles had I seen them on my radar. There is no way a tank/drop ship/heavy suit has a lower scan profile than my suit. And there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to have them scanned in a 360 degree.
If I'm not directly looking at them, then they are invisible. Something is wrong with this. Very wrong and it's seriously frustrating. I know many players are feeling the same way.

Yeah its broke as hell.Do you remember when the LOgi lAv's were runing people over by the thousands ? It wasnt the LAV or the fact that people were doing this that pissed me off.It was the fact that they're a vehicle and you dont see them on your RADAR.Im glad mentioned this because its broke in there own mechanics and has been for forever .Look at the DB of a vehicle and tell me that you have to be looking at the vehicle to have that show up on your radar makes any type of sense in "THEIR" mechanic. It doesnt and throws profile mechanics right out the window. Remember when Scanners first came out those scanned enemy units were revealed to the whole team ? They changed that .It also used to be that anyone on your team looking at a Tank would reveal the tank to everyone's radar. It doesnt work that way anymore.Only works for squad. IDKY
Im glad you wrote this thread. Radar has been broken for so long I cant really remember which build we were in when I noticed it was broke. Probably when they shrunk its range down. Yeah Id say its its been broke since then.

Passive scanning sometimes seems a little buggy. I have issues when there's to a of equipment I'm picking up.
That being said, even maxes out a logi will only have a range of 22.5 which is ton. Other non scouts will have 15 which is tiny. S chances are they are just outside your range. But if you have crazy high percision and pick up all sorts or equipment it can get funky. |

In other words, you just told us you are an easy target because you rely on the suit to do the looking FOR you.
Relying on radar for anything other than a bit of a situation controller is a very bad idea to begin with.

tbh I kinda enjoy the blind map and having reddots only appear in specific circumstances...
However I also find that many players don't know how to use the map or can't manage to simultaneously watch the map and play at the same time. Which gives skilled players a bit of an edge when it comes to knowing your surroundings. Of course without that crutch, you simply just have to pay more attention to your blindside and know these maps like the back of your hand. Which by now.. everyone should have done already.
We need new maps CCP.

Please try :)
My point is that the max skills in passive scanning SHOULD allow me to pick up Heavy Suits and Vechicles, MINIMUM. I'm tired of turning a corner and BAM a Heavy is right there, or being shot at by a Vechicle and not being able to see where it's shooting me from (goes for drop ships and tanks). How can I not know where these things are, they have HUGE SCAN PROFILES, yet my scout, logistics, assault suits cannot pick them up.
Yes, I rely on scanning because I trained the skills to assist me. No I cannot see behind corners, and when I turn the corner I'm already TOO CLOSE to the enemy for my skills (gun game) alone to make any difference.
These mechanics need some fixing because they simply do not work as intended.
