heya I dunno if this will be in the right section so admins feel free to move it if its not.
ok so Yesterday I found out that the 5,000 to 7,000 Sp I was gaining per match with my 7 day active booster was not to last as that's apparently "Bonus SP" & now I am only gaining 1/10th of the SP I was Originally gaining, so now comes to my question, what's the damn point in any Active booster over 3 days? I reached my Bonus SP limit in 25 Hours of game play over 2 days ? now I need 250,000 SP for the skill I desperately need & I am struggling to even get 40,000 SP, not to mention my friends then tell me "oh you have to wait until next Wednesday until you can start getting "The Bonus" SP again" soooooo basically if I play 7 hours a day as my Dropship Pilot for 7 days of the week I will only just get a skill that should theoretically take me only 2 days worth of hardcore game play =_=, I feel like there is no point a all, the game NEEDS me to get SP to get skills so I can be better at the game & not get constantly Proto stomped all the time yet at this rate its gunna take months for me to even get there =_= WOW nice marketing strategy CCP way to waist the 3 7day Active Boosters I bought from you =_=.
I mean seriously I feel like I am playing for nothing, with only Basic Shield Modifiers & Militia Missile Launchers I can get taken out from half way across the map by 1 damn Militia Rail Tank that costs 1/3rd of the price of my Assault dropship then limiting how many kills I can get in a match went he enemy team just spams 2-3 Rail tanks, not to mention if 1 of my dropships gets taken out I have already gone in the negative ISK wise for that match (I mean dont get me wrong I am a damn good Pilot but when you cant come down to shoot at people cus your position is being surrounded by Rail Tanks what's a girl to do ?), so Basically I am playing this damn game to bleed ISK & not get F all SP if any, WOW CCP you know how to show a girl a good time =_=
If you don't agree with me I don't care, I aint gunna be replying to your flames & hate mail.
ok Rant over... |

I am a Student, I have had part time jobs but mainly only have the time for studying during the day hours, I am a Games Design student so I obviously play computer games, I feel that playing games gives me drive to become a better games designer.

Honestly, the issue is not the SP cap and it's certainly not the boosters. What I see here is that your case is another case in a long string of similar cases that underline the biggest issue surrounding Dust 514 at the moment. The flawed new-player experience (NPE) or lack thereof.
You obviously didn't know that there is a weekly SP cap which was requested by the community back during closed beta in order to inhibit any attempts to max out the game in a ridiculously short amount of time. We obviously don't want to see new players go proto-everything in just under a month, now do we? No. No we don't. That may seem like a positive thing for new players (no SP cap) but it's also a negative thing for the new players since that would mean veterans will be even further ahead than before. But this is something I feel you should have known about this from the start via some in-game tutorial or some sort assuming it's in there somewhere. But even then, again, this just points out to all of us that CCP needs to overhaul the NPE so that new players like you would then know from day one about something as mundane as the weekly SP cap.
well the problem I see here to be honest with you is that the game needs to be spread out more, as everyone here will know there is 4 stages of weaponry, Militia, Standard, Advanced & Prototype, now if say each skill instead had 10 levels instead of 5 & instead of the standard 4 stages there was lets say 7 going Militia (takes no Skill level), Standard (takes skill level 1), Advanced (taking skill level 3), Intermediate (taking skill level 5), professional (taking skill level 7), Specialist (taking Skill level 9) & Prototype (taking Skill level 10).
If the game was spread out like this then there would still be a Large difference between players that have played for a long amount of time & players that have only been playing a short amount of time, BUT the new player would feel like there advancing, constantly getting better with the no Bonus SP cap, there equipment would be always getting better but still wouldn't be a match for the equipment of the long standing players, obviously some sort of balance would need to be put it when it comes to match making like for say a player with mainly Advanced gear will only be pit up against at highest a player running Professional grade gear.
I know something like this might take a wee bit to sort out but it would make long standing members still feel like there that much better then new players & that the new player cant get to there standard in a matter of a month or 2, BUT the new player would also feel like there constantly improving & working there ways up the levels unlike when I hit the cap I feel as though I am just stuck & might as well not play the game until my Bonus resets |

call me weird but I don't like running alt's, if I make an Alt it tends to be a test char to test a weapon or vehicle before I start using it on my main
