CCP, whether it just be good marketing or "true self", has always given off a great image of being a group of people that don't treat themselves to seriously. You have LogiBro taking the most horrifying picture of his eyes, the notion of Pub Crawls, their little joke videos about upcoming patches, and my personal favorite: Thorrablot. They do a great job showing that they still know things should be fun despite the fact that they have the most harsh, unforgiving game since Russian Roulette.
But, as I said, good marketing or truth is always hard to see when done proficiently.

CCP are the devs we love to hate.
Yeah, we give them a hard time. Yeah, we question their sanity on a regular basis.
But they do care about their players in the long run, and I still think they can make their game great. They've proved it with EVE, and I'm sure they can do it here.
