With 1.8 releasing, all of my SP in dropsuits was refunded and decided to wait a bit before putting my points into CalAssault again. The problem is that Assault are somewhat lacking and I've become of them. So I ask you, the forums, what dropsuit should I skill into next, Scout or Logi?
When I say scout or logi, I mean their Caldari or Minmatar variants since I have Cx Extenders and Adv Rechargers and Regulators. I don't want to skill into armor tanking but I'm willing to skill into equipment or ewar and cloaks.
I just want to have fun and help my team in some way. Thank you. |

heres my advice.... stay way from the flavor of the month, which I believe right now is a cloaky scout or logi scout.
if you truly love this build play it, but don't play it simply because its "the best" right now...
many a fool have specced into "the best" fit only to have it eventually nerfed and incapable of playing well because they no longer had their crutch of being the most OP....
play what you love to play and as a secondary requirement what you are best at playing. and remember, eventually you can have both scout and logi to 5 as you accrue more sp.
this game makes me sad....

if you have lot's of ISK to burn logi. If you want a fighting chance against other scouts go scout.
Your game f'ing sucks, but I'll still play it.... damn you!

My personal thoughts:
- Before making your choice consider that at some point they'll likely dial back the scouts a bit. This may happen 4 months from now, however. Even if they over-nerf the Scout, you'll have gathered enough SP to choose to a different suit by that time.
- A Scout can be a Scout *and* a part-time Logi. I personally use a Scout these days to deliver uplinks and nanohives, which is 90% of a Logi's job to me. This means a Logi is terrible at being a Scout, but a Scout isn't terrible at being a Logi. This is likely to stay that way because I don't believe that they will take away the Scout's second equipment slot.
- Logis will repeatedly get murdered by invisible scouts for the foreseeable future. Even a Gallente Logi has trouble picking up cloaked Scouts these days.

Regarding race, between Caldari and Minmatar I'd choose either Caldari Scout or Minmatar Logi. The Caldari Scout is clearly better at being an all-round Scout than the Minmatar one and if you actually choose the Logi way of life I expect you to be so devoted to the role that you'll want to have those 4 equipment slots the Minmatar Logi gets at the prototype level. |
