With squads being open it is free game to jump in, but it is not an invitation to display Prof 5 ability of being a D bag. Here are some things that I personally don't like to get from randoms:
1) Dropping the F bomb, screaming and calling people b*$ches like they were free orbitals--Yes it sucks to get flanked, stomped, RE ed, etc etc but do the randoms really have to rage and bring me down too. Listen, you're an adult and you curse like a sailor,.. seriously I get it you are SOOO legit and super cool..can I play my game without my ears bleeding? Thanks 2)You want to join the squad to remind us that you are THE Grim Reaper god of dust aaaand to tell me my squad sucks?...RRrrreaaally?, feel free to carry the team with your great tactic of only slaying and not hacking any points because your KD proves everything to the world plus your next employer and possible date will be Very MUCHO impressed. 3) Ohh your just looking for your next AFK party? Laaaame, dont you know afking will give you hairy palms? Please go play Viva Pinata 4)Random,you'er a comedian and like to try your stand up material in squad...Dude.. STAND DOWN, your not that funny. Why does everything have to be a joke that you HeeHaw at and expect me to laugh at too, sorry I have a dry sense of humor. 5) THE WORST--You join only to QQ about DUST and its failure and how its going to die, its a waste of timeplanetside2playstation4isbetterIAMSoawesomeiftherewasnolaggIonlydietoOPweaponsnobodyisbetterthanmeblaha blahblabhlablabh... and..kick.
True I can lock a squad but then I lock out the possibility of playing and meeting some laidback, chill players who enjoy good games and shooting the breeze.

While I have experienced all of the above, I honestly can say they were few and far apart. I actually jumped into lots of random teams until I found my corp. It's actually a great way to test the waters of any corp before your join. The last corp I joined was a big name corp so I thought I was lucky to get in and would learn some things. Turns out most no one in my corp was ever on and the alliance was dead silent, however there's not way to really no that kind of thing beforehand.
I started jumping into random squads and some of them ignored me. Some kicked me. Some didn't mind me being there at all.
And converse of what Toro said, I've even joined some squads that did nothing but:
- B & moan the whole game about how things never worked in their favor.
- People who yell at you constantly. Whether because you made an honest mistake or even because they brought in a proto suit and don't understand why you won't go pick them up in front of 6 redberries
- Squads who like to talk everything but what's happen in battle. I don't care to hear about your horrible highschool final. Tell me where the fraking sniper is!!?!?
Leave squads like that. It's a game, meant to be fun. You don't need attitudes like that infecting your game.
Most of the time, at the end of match, I'd leave the squad. But every once in a while you'll find that one squad you really gel with. Either cause it's cool guys or a really well put together team, whatever.
At the end of match, tell them gg and that you really enjoyed squadding with them. If they have an open channel to squad with them in the future, I'd ask and take that invite. The more you get on and see the same people and play together, you just found yourself a corp. Otherwise, keep jumping into random pools and play the game.

I do it all the time, especially in FW matches. If they don't want randoms joining, that's what the lock function is for. I have no comms, since I'm playing on a computer monitor and don't own a mic, but I let my battlefield performance speak for itself. After the match, drop a GG, if you worked well together, ask for their public channel. It beats the hell out of the squad finder.

DonGÇÖt be any of those people Toro described. If you join a squad, and find those people already in the squad, leave the squad and try another. There are a lot of chill people who are fun to play with. DonGÇÖt waste your time with the ones who are not.

I do this all the time as well, as it often takes forever to find the right squad in a chat channel, and I want to donate my points towards an orbital.
If they don't want randoms, they should lock their squad.
Once, I had a guy kick me, I rejoined his squad, and by the end of the match he was telling the rest of the squad how good I was doing etc. I just sat there and laughed my butt off.

There is no problem with a random blueberry joining your squad. I've joined lots of open squads during a match with some top notch players. Most people just don't want to be annoyed while play this game. They just want to chill and kill. Also, don't be offended if they want to drop you for a corp member or alliance member. |

If the squad is not locked they have it coming. I do it just because the squadfinder is strange and the squads often take too long to get into battle. I must play my daily match quick, or dont play at all, sadly. Feel free to kick me any time.

He'll I'd rather 2 random blueberries making my squad more points for the ob than 2 empty spaces . That being said if you don't have a mic you won't be on squad for long after the match.

People jump in our squads every now and then, play couple of matches and then leave without a word. It's ok in my books. I do it also.
Hey, they help towards the OB's so no complaints from here. We kick people only when our corp-mate is joining and we need space.
I just wonder what they think about our comms every now and then...

yea it's usually some condescending nerd that just wants to mouth off. this one idiot that thought us she had some sort of special status because she was a female who randomly hopped in our squad tried to tell us we had no right to use a corp name that was based another game after i told her to basically go screw herself she then resorted to reporting me to my CEO who also told her to screw off. stupid btch was getting scores of like 0/8 every match and thought she was some kind of lore police claiming to be "educating" us about PS3 games. she claimed we were dbags for not knowing the lore of kill zone 3, i told her maybe she should stop worrying about random player's video game lore and try to actually get laid.

I don't mind randoms jumping into a squad I'm in, but please have a mic or at least voice activated. If a random jumps into our squad, and for one reason or another he/she gets annoying, the word is "soccerball". For instance, "New guy sounds like a soccerball". Out he goes. |

This is hilarious.
On my own note, I like to ask squads after I join, if they don't mind me joining for a bit. I'm a middle range player, there's lots better and lots worse than me. I get frusturated which is embarrassing, but usually just turn off the mic if I think I'm swearing too much (I've been called on it before).
Just basically treat people with respect, and it all works out.
