I dunno. Why do people feel obligated to protect a defective product when they could just be having a buh-last playing. Also, condescension.

EVE and Dust are the only two games I have ever played where deaths matter. Dying in Dust hurts due to isk loss, dying in EVE hurts a whole lot because PVP is less frequent and ships cost a lot more than drop suits.
This is why EVE and Dust produce such rage. Nobody want to die because dying has a cost.
I have never played any other game where I cared about dying. Death means nothing in most games. This is why most games have very little risk vs. reward. This is also why most games get boring after a few months.

Well when you find that person protecting the game you ask them that. As for having a "Buh-last playing" no one does it better than me ;) |

I couldn't care less about cost because it's all fictional, and death in DUST is far more inconsequential than in Donkey Kong. What angers me is the idea that you can spend months and months perfecting the precious individualistic playstyle that CCP advertises, and then some dweeb just rips that to shreds with an "update", and a bunch of skill-less exploiters ruin every match for everyone. Hardly anyone really minds a tough slog if there's grits and bacon at the end, almost everyone hates being lied to. This game's slo-mo bait-and-switch is a particularly tedious kind of lie.

Because I tend to fight lag abusing, stacked, proto-FOTM teams. Why even play if you're not going to play what you want, just to chase whatever's OP/the new glitch this patch?

I ended up quitting originally for quite some time and came back to the game after taking a break. I was angry because I had high expectations to this game that (still) have not been met. I feel that CCP could do a lot more to meet these expectations and I feel that they should AT MINIMUM have better customer interaction and keep them in the loop. They are way too secretive and don't give you information on what they are doing until it is about to drop.
That said I still have hopes this game will one day meet my expectations. I just don't expect it to happen any time soon. So everytime I get angry I will just leave and check back later. That doesn't mean CCP has license to take forever though. I'm not willing to wait 10 years or even another 2 years. Eventually I will get fed up and just never come back. Until that time though I will enjoy myself with what I got. |

So what are you saying. Dust should stay the same forever? New weapons, suits and vehicles shouldn't be added? Stats should never change to encourage different playstyles?
That would mean Dust would stagnate and become boring as hell. When the RR and CR were introduced we had to adapt. When tanks were buffed and av was nerfed we had to adapt. This patch has tons of heavies, commandos and scouts and we have to adapt. I'm not saying these changes were perfect, but they forced you to adapt or die. The battlefield is always changing in warfare. What works today won't always work tomorrow.
The ever changing, never stale cycle of Dust is what keeps it exciting.
COD and BF evolve very little. They provide a game where nothing ever really changes. So once you have done all there is to do, or get tired of the same thing over and over you stop playing the game and wait for the "New" version to come out even though it will have the same routine as the old version.
EVE and Dust force you to adapt or become obsolete. That is why I enjoy it.

Most of it comes from how bad it feels to play dust.
This is due primarily to the input lag and frame rate issues and with the quicksand terrain. Getting stuck and being forced to suicide makes me more frustrated than any balance issues I've ever dealt with.
Tbh... People are frustrated because the game plays like **** and it's why you see 2-3 threads a week about why this game needs to get off the POS3. It may not be the POS3's fault but clearly Dust cannot run on this console and create an enjoyable experience. PS4 or PC... It doesn't matter, it just needs off this awful horrible console asap. |

Because it didn't need to be like this and CCP once again hung a big louie. Free to play is just a cheap excuse to counter complaints.
CCP acted like they believed in this game seriously enough to plug it into EVE. They need to show it. Now is not the time to hang back with slow development supported by big dreams and empty presentations at Fanfest.
I was one of few EVE players that were fully ready to support this game and one announcement after another about the direction the devs were taking worried me things would go this way GÇô which is down.
I try to enjoy what I can, but that is becoming less and less.

Because its not going anywhere at all.
I have all the isk I need and I even spam proto aurum to always gain profit. I have exactly what i want which is proto minmatar logi, assault and heavy. A lot of people are mad because we specialise our chars for the same sht over and over again and the end game isn't good enough to warrant the grinding and time needed to take part.
I have 27 something million sp on this char, 17 million on another and 14 million on my tanker. I can do everything I want but the game is just so fking repetitive and boring that I simply CBA.
If you know what a telefrag match is, then I love you.
The tritanium I sell is more relevant than dust has ever been.

In MAG I was pissed but happy to go against great players from Elite clans who were aggressive. In dust, I dont see that because the Elites care more about there precious gear than a straight fight.
Here is my question to all proto or aka Elites.
What matters to you when you spawn, your pathetic gear ( those who are dicks) or your team? You may only choose one and ask why its important to you.
COME AT ME BRO!!!
My message to the normal players is Be Aggressive. Don't let these protos take the advantage of you, use whatever you can to destroy them, and remember Retreat is not an option.
If you run proto gear, prepare to suffer the consequences. You've been warned.

Because they emotionally invested, not in control, and unable to deal with the friction between those two positions. |
