And that's why I'm going to keep fighting until I can SP into them. Instead of giving up altogether and throwing my controller through the tv.
Assault class is still b*llox (and I'm b*llox for skilling back into it despite the respec) but slap on a Proto suit and the numbers are back to 1.7 levels and I'm a lot happier knowing it's going to make a difference.
Normally when I see a bunch of top corp members on the opposite side I leave the battle immediately. The cheaty proto suits I bought gave me the balls to stay in and now I can see a future for my merc in DUST. Hooray!
Now if the programmers can just see fit to buff the Assault class back to something like useful - I'll be more than happy.

You don't have to use AUR for the protosuits. Go do some Factional Warfare and buy your suits with the LP earned from the matches.

Tried FW but on balance I prefered getting ISK rewards to LP rewards. But the FW concept is something I'm interested in once I feel I can hold my own on the battlefield - so to speak.

Well said... Just be patient and you'll get what you want. The feeling you get when you wear your first Hard earned Proto Suit with everything Proto in it, (Worth the time, sweat, pain, Rage and few broken controllers) |

Yeah I don't know why it took me so long to realise but patience really is a virtue in this game. however I cannot wait until I can afford the isk version. will be going full throttle during next weeks event.
Basically my advice to anyone who's having a hard time who's invested in a booster is to use any spare change aurum you've got to buy half a dozen proto suits and see what a difference it makes (assuming you've skilled up your armour and shields to ADV level) you survive longer and you hit harder. or take the advice of rep susi and play FW until you can afford a few LP versions.. it's a whole new world!
