Something is bugging me since the release of this patch. Why the hell has every 3rd guy some weird symbol on the mini map/radar? Ya know not the the usual dot more like a chevron on the mini map. It doesnt matter what suit the guy is using it seems to happend randomly and its bugging me cause i cant predict in which direction the guy is looking.

Pro tip: the wedge, the open part of the chevron, is more or less their FOV. It's the opposite of the normal arrow.

From what I've noticed the angled markers are the new suits.
I don't know why the new suits have a different marker, probably a mistake on CCP's part. I can imagine that they planned to implement the new markers for all the suits but accidentally only tagged the new for ones for it. Who knows, CCP doesn't make sense sometimes.

I don't care. It's a blessing for scouts because we now know where you are looking (the mouth of the alligator is where you are facing).

If you didn't notice the dots had this too then scouting for you must of been a pain.

All nee suits have one. You can use it to your advantage. The majority of new suits are heavies and your unlikely to pick up a scout on your radar. So if you see a red chevron on the mini-map its most likely a heavy.
