For those of you with near-sighted vision... Have you ever tried playing a match without wearing your glasses or contacts? I recently just did and let me tell you.
... It was not an enjoyable experience. I couldn't see anything and had to rely on my innate knowledge of where things were to navigate. It was an interesting thing to do as well. I actually managed to achieve a few kills just by shooting at that random blob I saw, but every scout that killed me got the drop. As they say, you can't shoot what you can't see. I only make this thread because I attempted the near-impossible. Unfortunately I have to wait until Saturday to get them (glasses) fixed. So if you see me in-game during this time... I hope you don't just stand there so I think you're a damn object and run right by you.
Seriously though... Don't try going in blind.

Next time for Hardmode play on a Standard Definition Cathode Ray TV where the tube is dimming because its about to blow. Hell, I don't even have vision problems and I didn't even know there was such a thing as two chevrons over squad leaders. Uplinks looked like campfire symbols and the CRU looked like a diamond. I just shot below the red glowing chevron and hoped I killed someone. |

I have bad eye site but I can still play, I have a 32 in TV in my living room and play about 12-15 ft away or so(sorry I live in America). I can still play efficiently but if you give me a sniper, I won't notice or hit the targets.
Well, time to go Commando. Fill the Ranks at 703rd.

I play on a 28" HD TV, but the HD does nothing because I can't see anything besides blobs. I can, however, see a heavy because they're like an elephant in a barn. Except it's a blob. That kills me.

I'm nearsighted and have the Playstation 3D Display.
I sit around 2-3 feet away from the TV because I I HAVE to see where I'm shooting at if I don't have my glasses on. No, my eye sight doesn't get worse and no my eyes don't hurt after I'm done playing because the longest I play for us roughly 3 hours give it take. Mostly 2. Barely. Also, I have the TV in my room which isn't that big, so there's that. Imagine a cheap college dorm lol.
Anyways, yeah. With my glasses, I can pay further away like on my bed. Which is about give it take 7-10 feet away from the TV.
I'm going to be working in front of a PC all day anyways so unless you're a developer, your opinion on my status is void. |

I'm very nearsighted. I couldn't imagine playing without my glasses. Have a classic retro TV. Need a flatscreen. 'Play in the living room', no, that's why I have a TV in MY room. I have too sit or less close to the freaking TV to see anything. I have to take breaks every 15min cause my eyes get sore. 'Then don't play' Not. Happening.

I don't have glasses, but i play on a 17 or so Inch CRT TV, i sit about 3-4 feet away and still manage to shotgun/snipe/AV fine.
Just turn your contrast higher than usual and those slightly blue shimmers glow.
Also helps with BLEEDING. Y'know. The time your squaddie uses an active scanner and the red chevrons BLEED to like 3-4x their size?

Is it contrast that makes the shimmer... ~shimmer~?

I tried this back when my glasses broke in the days of logi lavs. It was hilarious listening to the rest of my squad as I attempted to drive.
All hail the Commando ak.0
