When a vehicle is unoccupied are the Scanners supposed to still give info to the owner? Active modules seem to remain active when the vehicle is not operating, is this an intended feature or is it an unintended issue? More curious than anything else, though it seems rather easy to use this as an exploit in the case of scanners. On a few rooftops it is possible to call in a LAV and run a scanner from it rather easily.

Don't believe it to be an exploit , I do it when I get out of my LAV while firing to make sure that no one backdoor's me or a scout just run's up to your door as your hoping in and shotgun me to my face .
  I think it's smart if anything .
Stop asking for tiercide , your killing variety and the fun of this game at the same dam time .

Situational Awareness . No doubt it is a smart move. Just wondering if it is intended, that activated modules remain active without an occupant. The scanner pulse is what got me thinking about this. Also some non active modules only function when the vehicle is occupied (Mobile CRU), which lead me down the path of this pondering.
Be aware, any scout who has points in Dampening will beat that scanner. I've been a scout since beta, and I like to sneak up and plant RE on unattended LAVs

I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to work once you exit. They may continue for a second, but, they removed that ability a while back, iirc. I'll look at old patch notes real quick.
xSivartx is my Heavy. There are many like him, but he is my own...
So, other Logi's back off, those are my Warpoints!

I use dampener's too but not that much . I have a lot of salvaged shotgun's just screaming at me to invest but I haven't gotten around to it .
The owner might be around like you said , using the scanners .

As long as the pilot is in distance of the vehicle , I don't see where the problem lies .
The owner could have used that as a trap for someone to come and try to flip the vehicle .
  I know if I was a dampened and cloaked scout , I would .
