No. This is not a QQ thread.

I remember reading it somewhere. Not sure if it was a Dev Blog or a Forum Dev Post but I do remember CCP stating that they wanted the Combat Rifle in Dust 514 to be what the M16 is to most FPSs. So expect it to be widely used as it's role is being fullfiled like CCP wanted.

Me? I like it. One of my favorite weapons. Specially now that I am seeing a lot of armor tankers. That just makes my job killing you with the Combat Rifle easier.

The CR has it all, function and form. It's great for CQC and ranged combat and looks badass. A fine demonstration of the awesomesauce of Matari tech.

The m16 is an American piece of crap. Vietnam showed that.... Was all politics. The ak47 is the combat rifle. Hits hard, reliable and contrary to popular (American) belief is accurate. It beats the m16 in every category even weight. Hence why the m16 is scrapped and the ak is still the widest used assault rifle in the world

At least IMO. Damn Canada, not letting me own one

The initial complaints regarding the m16 were due to jamming/failure to extract malfunctions caused by a combination of a lack of chrome plating of bore and chamber, adverse conditions conducive to corrosion and failure to furnish proper cleaning materials. The m16 has a higher rate of fire, better accuracy, higher muzzle velocity and is lighter when compared to the most common Ak47 variants. What the ak47 has is spades is reliability due to generous clearances/tolerances. The ak47 is the most common assault rifle in the world because it is/was the standard issue of the two largest infantry armies in the world (USSR/Russia, and China), is easier to produce/counterfeit, has a longer service life and is easier to use/maintain with limited training. I suppose it depends how you define your requirements as to which is better. I'm no expert on the matter, just a somewhat rare left wing gun nut rambling.
