Dat 29 round mag I've only used the breach in 1.8, how's the new burst version? Also does anyone know what the burst delay is? |

It's good enough to put down your opponent before they know what happened, or to cause them to panic and make hasty mistakes. |

How is it compared to the breach? |

It was hard to use in 1.7. Very unstable. |

As a heavy, I've had limited success with the breach. I don't usually sneak up on people and get time to line up a headshot to start an engagement. If you can manage that the breach would do nicely, but then again the burst might do that better except for ammo efficiency.
I usually go with a burst for its rate of fire when forge gunning or a tactical variant for longer range with the HMG. |

As an almost exclusive scp scout, I am loving the burst now. I run an adv breach in my light weapon slot and a burst in my sidearm - the breach is great for softening up an unaware opponent, and if they turn and engage, the burst can usually finish them off while dodging with a good ol' "spray and pray"... |

My favourite sidearm. It makes it feel like the old Assault ScP rate of fire.

3 guaranteed head shots if you aimed at the neck, not only giving it higher DPS and burst potential than any other weapon in the game (bar the forge gun for burst and the LR for DPS), and the pistol was stable enough to be pulling these shots off with ease at close to close-mid range
When a 1m SP alt with only skills into the scrambler pistol, can drop a proto heavy in 2 bursts or less in 90% of situations, it was OP

Personally, I ain't the biggest fan of the breach. I'd say pick the Bolt Pistol over it.
But, the burst is pretty great. And, dat 29 round mag. If you can get behind someone. They fall pretty quickly. Even face-to-face it can be surprisingly powerful.
One time someone was firing at me and I thought "LOL, burst scram- holy crap I'm dead... how'd that happen?"
Takes a little getting used to it. Because it is a slower burst fire weapon. More akin to the burst AR, actually. But, if you time it right, very effective and very fun. |
