I saw something interesting in a recent Dom match. A Nyain squad, roflstomping our team, was using a varied squad comp! They had one Cal scout, one Cal logi, one Python and three Gal heavies.
Could it be that Dust's balance has finally reached the point where a balanced squad composition is greater than the sum of its parts, and better than the pure spamming of a single suit type? I think the answer is yes, and for that reason alone 1.8 is a glorious victory on CCP's part.

That Nyain squad was a distraction whilst the other squads of [FOTM REDACTED] rampaged across the land and pubs!
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Speaking of Nyain San, I'm starting to see an absence of them in Ambush.
I wonder if it has something to do with the vehicle limit.

The imbalance still exists in what you wrote. The guys running the scout suits for passive scans and a sneak attack is understandable. The rest using all heavy suits is not. Just like today again, another match I was in was all 80% fatsuits. It's getting old.

I'm not saying balance is perfect or even particularly good, but it's way better than having only one viable class. This is a leap and a bound forward from previous Dust balance. 80% HMG fatsuits is a super-annoying FOTM, but a 100% fatsuit team will get facerolled with ease by 80% fatsuits.

Yeah, I always love how people try to justify that one lol. I'd still take the slayer logis over the current fatsuit HMG spam; at least I could get away from them if necessary without moving at the speed of a slug or getting insta-ganked by two fatties that spawn in around an objective.

Yeah, unless someone calls for quick moving ships, you pretty much do. |

I put it in quotation marks for a reason.
Also, try using a fit like this. It really excels at killing heavies and doesn't rely on a cloak.
