I used my 230 EHP dual kin cat basic gallente frame and went positive! (4 kills and 1 death).
I would have gotten a lot more, but the ambush match was already more than half way through, and tank spam was prevalent. 3 of the kills were from my GN flaylock, and 1 was from my toxin AR.

I think we're going to need a larger data sample before we call something "viable," but still, it's good to hear people are trying new (or old rather) things different from the
 FotMnorm.
May the wings of angels be at your feet.

True, it isn't viable, but I just wanted to say it was...

It got killed the moment uprising started and people realised how much better brick tanking was because of the callogi...
But it was always inferior to it, its just that it was viable in chrome because of the low ttk and abundance of low hp low damage mlt-adv players which was like 90 percent if not more of players.

Still, it was really apparent that speed tanking was inferior even back then when you'd get insta melted not only by the viziams with broken damage mods and sharpshooter, but the duvolle as well.

Yup it works, not amazingly but in some situations it works. It's mostly about smart movement over anything.

Yeah speed tanking. Just as comical like a heavy with a swarm launcher.

Fit a cloak and people will rage even if you get no kills.

Speed tanking has always been more viable than plate stacking but only if used by a player who knows what they're doing

However, I will say that there are situations that require one to have at least a plate. Specifically dealing with prototype heavies. Speed tanking does have it's issues, mostly just sprinting issues relating to having too much stamina (#AmarrMasterRace) and the stupid stun locking.

True, it isn't viable, but I just wanted to say it was...
That's just one instance though, you have to provide multiple instances where you could do better or just as well.

Speed tanking's viable on my gk.0 scout with complex shields and cloak. But practically anything is with that, so not sure if it's compensating or not.

Speed tanking isn't viable for frontline combat dodging.

It IS viable for repositioning as a Swarm user, Shotgunner, Sniper or any other role where you can take advantage of being somewhere unexpected.

Speed tanking was always viable, I had a 280 Hp scout pre 1.7 and could just fine with it. But speed tanking has changed from ballerina dancing through streams of bullets to flanking and surprise moves...who need to dance through bullets when I get the first second of engagement because I am behind the enemy?
