Just after an opinion on an idea I have been thinking about for the last couple of months about an overall improvement to general gameplay, mainly focused on PC cause at the moment it is about as interesting as watching paint dry. This is a vision with long term changes as there is way too much to do in 1 go.
To start with have an option to raid an enemy district, but attacking squad buys their own clones to do so. Defenders have their own clones on site. defenders can field an entire 16 if they wish to. Attackers only have a squad to take in to battle. This means attackers must select who is going in, while defenders can simply jump in and defend when they need to. It also gets the higher tier players out of public matches. A raid should give be able to start with less than 10 minutes warning, but not reattacked for a few hours
Raids do not count towards taking over a district, but does reduce available clones on one. Defenders are defending so they would only receive in-match salvage, whereas attackers would get salvage and isk based upon how long they held a domination style point.
A clone pack for a raid would only consist of a small number of clones (20-30) and match would be over when all clones are destroyed with no time limit, and no mcc. A corporation can attack a district with only a couple of minutes of warning (this could be tied to security status of a district). Could also bring in EVE pilots for a reduced time.
In the future things could also be added such as corporation drones to defend your district when no one is available, some districts could mine materials for suits, weapons, vehicles and mods (if we make it that far) and raiders could take that instead of isk. EVE ships could transport materials to home district with the possability of being intercepted. Sure there is other stuff people can think of that could be added.
Just think the game modes are stagnating, and this would actually make people want to play the game if they could get a bigger reward, with a bit more tactical play. As stated, could tie EVE into the movement of clones and materials, give higher tiered players somewhere to play with players on their level and stop giving new players grief.
Better minds than mine could figure out the particulars, but am wondering what the community thinks of this long term view. |
