My main light weapon is the combat rifle and my main sidearm is the smg. Would it be worthwhile to spec into minmatar assault suits? I have all of my cores maxed out and the caldari scout suit with another 4 million sp unallocated as well as the 750k sp from the sidea event on the way. Is the minmatar assault so bad that I shouldnt use it even for its sweet bonuses, or would you recommend it? Thanks in advance.

I would sit on the points, personally. The fact that the Medium suits were barely touched and a revamp is planned (and to what extent is debatable), it would be best to wait until the grand plan is presented to us.

Sitting on it and playing with basic frames to get taste of the style is probably the best course of action. The revamp planned for the medium suits could go either way. |

Right now 2 lows is as good as it gets for the Min Assaults. If you don't mind your hp being all shields, or if you don't mind giving up all your lows for armor go for it. Waiting a bit is probably the way to go. God only knows whats gonna happen to the suit on thenext assault pass.
I have no idea when assaults are getting worked on again.

Every scout suit out matches it in all situations so don't select it on the pretense that it is superior to a scout suit because it's not.

Well I've been in minmatar assault since it was released. In fact, I'm probably the best min assault in dust (self proclaimed, challengers will be accepted  )..
OK more seriously. It really depends on your play style. As a minmatar you cannot stand and rely on dps and HP to win, you must always get the first shot off. The idea is that you use superior speed to achieve this and then get away. The minmatar assault bonus is amazing. It allows you to take down multiple enemies and keep moving. I love everything about the suit (especially after 1.8 dropped which gave a huge boost to stamina) however, currently assault suits are broken and generally UP compared to scouts and heavies. It would probably be best to save your sp.
On a side note, it may be worthwhile to try out the basic minmatar medium frames to see if you like it. You won't have the bonus but you can use your imagination (67 CR rounds (85 ACR) , 100 SMG rounds at pro). If you need help with fitting the suit I can give you some pointers.  |

It used to be a pretty damn good flanking assault suit, but scouts do it better honestly. Its still my favorite assault suit and it is still "viable" but usually these days in the rare moments I play the game, if I try to use my Minnie assault I wind up getting pissed and going back to my Gal scout to actually rack up some kills.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.
