I'm rather enjoying the 2 vehicle per side limit. I would entertain the idea of 2 of each vehicle class, but limit to 2 per side was a great step in the right direction. Now Infantry AV can consentrate on 1 or 2 tanks without the tank being able to run and hide behind 4 other tanks.
I hear Domination is the new Tankbush, I played several games saturday night where there were no tanks to hunt. Made me kind of sad standing there with my AV fit and no tanks wanted to come out and play.

Combine that with the fact that for the moment the entire team gets spawned on the outside of the map and if you don't have tankers on your side and the enemy does then their tanks can get to your side of the map before you can reach the central installation.
As a result half your team is pinned with nowhere to go 20 seconds into the game until they are eventually killed. |

I would like to see CCP code ambushes for infantry only and OMS (off map support) for vehicles, two per side. After all vehicles are off map support. I currently love going into ambushes without tank spam, but I just want a ground game death match. |

actually, its not illogical, your only option would be to spawn in the mcc, have the vehicle be deployed before you arrive on the ground or youl die. or something.
to separate vehicles and infantry would be the illogical move, separation would cause chaos and kill this game from a new problem. separation of the classes has never worked on earth, nor will it work in a game unless everyone is an NPC.

In dom and skirmish you always at least have the MCC and a ground spawn to come in on that's inaccessible to everyone except snipers.

I think the main way it could be fixed is for CCP to fix the "smart spawn" to actually make it like how it's supposed to be, that when you use it, you're placed far away from the action so you don't get insta-killed. However, I doubt we'll see that fix anytime soon. They won't even hot fix this forge gun and passive skill bug we've all been suffering from the last two weeks.

Now that would be fair if the two "classes" were balanced. Yet one is far more superior to the other. If you want fair treatment, become a fair asset.

Yet vehicle spawning doesn't work that way. I was just applying some logic to your emotional response.
We all know why you don't like the idea of offering two game modes because the no-vehicles would have most of the players and no-vehicle-limit would be empty. Unfortunate but fair.

The alternative to Ambush without vehicles is to have heavily fortified positions, that vehicles can not access and enemy infantry would have serious problems fighting through due to automated turrets within the structure I.e. Where vehicles can not hit them with lots of supply depots so that players can easily swap out to AV before switching back to another fit without having to sacrifice multiple lives particularly in a 50 clone Ambush.
Edit - The above is for the initial deploy to avoid spawn camping etc but not the main focus area for the battle unless your team is stomped within the first 30 seconds to a minute.
There should also be tunnels and trenches linking the various compounds so you can avoid that 20 second run across open ground so long as you are willing to accept that you could be caught in a choke point by the enemy infantry.
Initial deploy should put both teams on opposite sides of the large main structure in each map or fortified positions if no structure exists.
Smart deploy should put players on the outskirts of the action but not in the open or where there are reds. |

the whole "smart" spawn killed ambush for me- mull around a big blue blob and hope the odd red gets spotted.. at least when it was random a fight could be had within seconds of spawning in. to the dust community a classic TDM was too much for them to handle so now we have the so called smart spawn. before smart spawn you had to have your squad guard you to call in a vehicle because of the randomness of spawning. all smart spawn did was make it easy for vehicle drivers to own the match.
u can ban the troll out of the forums but u can't ban the forums out of the troll.

I finally came back to ambush and enjoy it. Now domination is my least favorite game mode. |

With a PS:
Since no MCC in regular ambush, clearly, there's no place for tanks to come from.
In contrast, since stuff "falls from the sky" in OMS.. vehicles should also fall from sky :)
