I dunno about you but I can feel a little piece of my soul being chipped off everytime I get biomassed.
The "Instant transferrance of conciousness, even upon the moment of Death" sounds a lot better then it actually is.
The pain, fear and anguish of dying gets transferred aswell.
Yes it makes me a better soldier but at what cost? Never sleeping again? Never being able to see my kids in the eyes again...
Well not sleeping doesn't matter since most bodies don't last that long.
You're probably still somewhat OK. But just you wait. Get biomassed 20 000 times and its starting to wear.
It now only remains to be seen what can, if anything, be done to the hollowed out soldier population of New Eden. They used to die and we all suffered for it. Now that we all keeps surviving, we might suffer even more in the long run. Time will tell if society can handle it, and will the big corps pay up to the ones suffering so much for their cause, giving a little back in terms of "post-continously-dying-clone fatigue" treatment?
We all know that memory wipes does the job but can we afford the cost of that? Losing so much competance? A soldier without his experience is nothing but a raw recruit. There is also the ethical dilemma of memory wiping but thats for the theologs to discuss.
