Like a lot of things that have been shelved in the game it looked cool but couldn't be done on the PS3 without a significant hit on performance. Again CCP doing stuff without thinking if it could be done first.

If they had released this for 1.8 the patch size wouldn't have been 514 MB..... which is also why I think they then released a load of changes and things 2 days later.
But yes, some of the current CPM did come out and say CCP held back on this facility due to performance issues and would be pushed back to a future patch.

It's the unreal engine. They're never going to work out all the performance issues. There's a reason you can get a commercial license for $100.

As far a IGÇÖm aware the Winmatar one was only speculation and only initial concepts had been drawn up for it. They wanted to get all (most) of the Lolaldari and Faillente facilities out first considering they already have all (most) of their items out already....

This was never shelved, only delayed. It is still coming and I wouldn't be suprised if we see it at FanFest. Also the Minmatar Cargo Hub wasn't speculation, they had a full team working on it for a very long time. It could very well be about ready as well and we may also see it at FanFest.

No, the last time I heard about this it got delayed not shelved. Many players were ok with this.

No, they already worked on a blockout phase 7 months ago, it should be coming in the same release as the caldari production facility, or a bit later but not that far off. |

Once you've run dual plasma cannons, then you realize anything's better than a Plasma cannnon.... or, notching can be worse than the plasma cannon. So it's impossible for them to mess this up worse than the plasma cannon

No optimism, facts. They ve been working on these 7-9 months, the Minmatar Cargo Hub was first shown in a blockout phase at least 7 months ago or more. |

Facts and CCP do not go together. Given the shifting nature of Dust staff, what was in the pipeline before is not still there. Given how poorly the Gallente structure is still performing, I would actually hope they have scaled back plans to screw up more maps, especially ones that are used in PC.

This is one of the biggest immersion killers for me. I understand it's important to have game play value over realism, but when facilities are like this I have to sit back and tell myself "it's not a production / communication / whatever facility, it's just a level."

Entire fighting area's devoid of any relation to the area's around it...
Like these map and socket creations are so terrible for actual FPS maps....
They need to hire someone that knows something about FPS map creation because this is more of the same terrible ****. |

IF CCP isn't designing maps for multi level playability... BY NOW...
With the thought that an uplink can be placed anywhere and everywhere... With the thought that heavies can't step over even a small ledge...

The entire way maps are designed and How DUST actually works are so ass backwards its mind boggling.
Map's and how imbalanced and poorly designed they are for FPS game play is almost 50% of the problem with Matches and imbalanced teams.

It's only bad if you look at it at with an FPS mind frame! You look at it with say an MMO or RPG mind frame and you see Mass Drivers above you on Catwalks, Shotguns appearing out of buildings, defensive lines set up by kill boxes.
These maps are FANTASTIC the fact there isn't enough 'Arenas' for you is prove this game is more than your standard FPS
Unless your a Computer Scientist don't tell me how Game Mechanics Work.
