I was playing the other day and thought to myself about the Battlefield mechanic of short and long reloads as well as losing your spear ammo from a clip, what do people think about including this in Dust?
I think it would be a good idea, the basic principle is that if you have a round in the chamber, you don't need to '****' the weapon as there is already a bullet in the barrel that can reciprocate and load the next shot, this means reloading in a series of quick battles or more than one opponent, it becomes more of a concern to manage your ammunition, do you reload after dropping the first guy and get a quick reload off or do you dump the clip, hoping to finish him off too and have to go through the long reload animation, I'm sure you're all familiar with the concept.
I appreciate it won't necessarily apply to all weapons - MD's, FG's, PC's, Swarms etc but I think it would add another layer onto the light weapons that are magazine fed - like the rifles and sidearms.
I also appreciate this is supposed to be the future and things like this are less of an issue with the new technology but if your Forge gun can misfire and your HMG/SCR/LR can overheat, why not implement something like this at some point down the line?
Thoughts?

Well... I am not completely sure if you know how the whole ammunition system of the game works... But basically it's not ammunition until it is in the weapon. The Nanites that are released from nanohives go into your suits nanite supply which instantly replicate all field ammo available including explosive rounds and grenades at a higher cost to nanite amounts. That's kinda why we only have roughly 2 magazines, drums, containment cylinders, batteries, charged gas hoppers etc.
Basically they detach the magazine clip it into there nanite supply and take off the full one and just keep cycling through the nanite supply between the two magazines, heavies only have one drum and that clips directly into there supply, it's quickly refilled and replaced... Same with the batteries for scrambler weapons the energy I would imagine is just transferred back into the nanite supply.
Only Minmitar, and caldari weapons are projectile type weapons with individual bullets, plasma and laser are both non defined rounds more of a battery and gas (possibly chemical, if it is a chemical based laser system) type hopper so they should be defined by a percentage instead of individual bullets with the possible acception of plasma depending on how it's created.
Besides considering this games not even close to being realistically finished do you think this is high on CCP's list of concerns?
