This crap has gotten me killed countless times in my scout suit, because I wasn't able to run away due to running as fast as a heavy walking. Add on the effects of impulse when being shot at, and speed tanking becomes nigh useless.
Has CCP even confirmed about this bug? It's been here since the dawn of 1.7, I think that was plenty of time up to now to have that fixed....

It was there before 1.7, but not as frequent, in my experience. Happens at least once a match now, it seems. |

It seems that something about the cloak makes it happen a LOT more often.
Like, 100% reproducable often.
My intentions is to have a fun game for everyone.
If I seem to be biased, I have good hard data to back it up.

Like, 100% reproducable often. It's linked to the switching animations so the cloak kicks it up quite a bit.

My personal fix, for the super-annoying weapon impulse effects: jumping. From what I can tell, impulse effects do not apply while you are airborne. Always jump as you're about to reach that crucial corner/cover- try it out, and tell me if it's all in my head or not, but I'm pretty sure it prevents stunlock.

Which sprinting bug?
The one where you try to start sprinting only to catch on some nonexistent terrain because you're on perfectly level ground and there's nothing to impede you and it still takes 3 or more attempts to get your character to actually move after you tried to start sprinting?
The one where you're sprinting and the game server is laggy and decides to undo a turn you took but still move you forwards at a full sprint so instead of staying in cover next to a building you get thrown about 50m out into the open and die?
The one where you're trying to sprint and get shot and suddenly start walking again?
The one where you're "sprinting" at lower than your normal walking movement speed and still draining stamina?
There are a LOT of problems with sprinting in this game. Most of them need work. |

Oh you mean a bug that can be replicated and could have been noticed if CCP tested it out? Naaaaah CCP has no idea this exists. You need to make a video, write a critical essay, tweet them out, write support a ticket, then sacrifice a chicken while doing a rain dance. Think that's how you summon a CCP reply.

You need to do it 666 times before a member of CCP considers looking at it.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

When you're a scout these things are killers. Half of my deaths are due to these one way or another, not to mention just how annoying it is trying to fiddle about with crouch/walk/switching to try and fix it - makes the game feel so cheap and tacky.

This mechanic completely negates a Biotic Scout's defenses and encourages the use of plates. This mechanic should be reconsidered ...
Shooting in someone's general direction does not halve his shields or armor. Why should it halve his sprint, movement and rotation speed?
Hey! It's 40%, not half!

Try speed tanking a minja and sprint jumping forward at someone. If they have a weapon other than a shotgun, mass driver, flay lock, or NK's, they will shoot you and you will slow down while in midair as well as having reduced momentum resulting in a much shorter jump

There are two problems being talked about in this thread: The sprint glitch, and the "sloth effect". The sprint glitch is where you would start sprinting, but the speed would be at heavy-like speeds (exaggeration, don't know the true speed). The sloth effect is where every projectile/laser hits you you slow down. Both are horrible for scouts that want to play the speed game.

If CCP fixes this they will probably break something more crucial...
They probably left it because everytime they tried to fix it they broke movement.
On a plus side the Mic bubble glitch that has been around for 7 months got fixed? kinda... |

I've sent tickets to CCP and this bs still hasn't been fixed yet. Every time I cloak and immediately sprint, I get the ******* bug. Everytime I shoot my shotgun and immediately sprint I get it. CCP owes me millions of isk because of this ****. It's literally come to the point where I just suck it up and try to avoid the bug. smh

When I'm in my scout suit, I've basically planned on expecting it 100% of the time. So I'll cloak, sprint and then immediately stop and then I'll run normal. It is annoying though as it has gotten me killed as I haven't been able to get around corners fast enough.

Min scout hacking bonus not working too for the first 2-3 hacks of a game (you know the first few that actually count and can set the tone for the rest of a skirm). I kinda think it's prolly in the same category of bugs as the sprint glitch. It's as though the game sometimes forgets that a certain bonus is supposed to be executed when too many other things are going on.

It's okay, if you run straight for over 300 stamina worth of sprint your sprint is the same speed as your walk until you stop and run again.
