I run Minmatar Commando, with intentions to eventually put one point in Min Assault and Logi suits as well for bit of variability.
I have Minmatar Commando at level 3 CR & MD both at prof 1 Armor and Shield Upgrades at level 5 Core Upgrades, Electronics, and Engineering at level 4
So do I put my points further into my weapons? Passive electronics skills? Get my logi and assault suits both to level 1?
All input appreciated.

I'd say work on getting the Commando to level 5 (Mainly for the damage bonus, but also if you ever want to run proto) then go to core upgrades, electronics etc, and then go to the mediums. (Apparently they're currently lackluster so only do it if you're in it for the long haul)

After core skills, get one version of each class to ADV. Currently I have PRO sentinel, ADV commando, and ADV scout, and almost at ADV logi. It basically makes me nerf-proof. If CCP nerfs the cloak, my sentinel has much less to fear, and if CCP nerfs sentinels, then my scout can kill those walking bricks just that much easier. If both are nerfed, then running my weakling commando fit might actually be worth it.

Max out those core skills. No matter what changes (nerf nerf nerf) the core skills will be beneficial.
We can pickle that.

I'm thinking I will fill out my e-war skills, and fit a proper recon scout (Caldari).

Zaaeed Massani wrote:All input appreciated. It sounds like you want variety. Most of us Perfectionist would say stay narrowed on core-fitting/buff skills to gain maximum performance. The first really important question you need to ask is which is more important to you Zaaeed? Going for perfection will basically lock you into that Commando fit for the next 15+ million skill points.
My Combat Engineer Logi who only has one suit (at 5) and one weapon (light weapons 5, mass driver 5, mass driver proficiency 4, fitting optimization 2) and the rest in Dropsuit Upgrades. He just hit 16 million skill point and I am still not happy. He needs another three million or so to clean things up. If I had diversified he'd still be a novice logi with weak offensive, defense, and support capacities. I played a weak support Logi during early Uprising. He wasn't fun like back in the Chromosome days. Right now he is fun.
What I'm trying to get at is before going into any support roles clean up your DPS, tank, and fitting first. Those cores are the silent heroes of Dust. Only break from that if your personal enjoyment of the game suffers from not having different Frame options.

My MD is at ammo 2/5, reload 0/5. CR is at ammo 2/5, reload 2/5, sharpshooter 3/5. Being at Commando 3/5 makes the reload already feel quite fast, as compared to when I was running medium frame suits and had reload at 0/5. I am definitely considering just dumping the 750k SP into those skills.

I have my Commando M-I loaded up with almost exclusively ADV weapons, equipment, and modules. What level are your core skills?

I have been running min commando almost exclusively this build, and I find it to be a pretty good frontline medic / point defense fit.
You need to get your reload speed up, it makes a world of difference. I reload my MD in 2.25 seconds.
This suit is starved for PG, so maxing out the PG to level 5 will help a little as well.
The commando is built with damage in mind. Damage mods and proficency skills are a must.
Don't fit advanced weapons just because you can, keep your cost down if only you're only running a basic suit. Stay ISK positive while you learn the suit.
If you have no proficiency skills, get the commando to level 5, just for the damage bonus. You're not supposed to be rambo, but you should be able to make reds think twice before charging you.
That said, 750k SP will only get you to PG 5, or Reload 5 on MD and CR, or Op 5 Pro 1 on MD and CR. Spend it on whatever you have seen is your biggest need currently.
If you win the rat race, you're still a rat.

It's hard to go wrong with core skills that have an effect on every suite you use. the more Sp you can put to good use on the field at once the better IMO.

I upped my Commando to proto just for the extra bonus'. I will probably never ever run the actual proto suit as it really has no extra benefit over the advanced suit and the price difference is crazy for an extra low and an extra high
