How many of you were intrigued when you read the profile of the Magsec in the Dev post description?
"The magsec is a semi-automatic firearm...available in multiple combat configurations GÇô including optical sights and silenced operation."
I think a silencer would be a welcome addition since I gravitate to the sound of gunfire. Great for stealthy builds.
Any of you speccing into this sidearm with this possible proto version in mind for 1.9?
Btw, why don't the weapon viewers look like the actual weapon? There is no scope on the BK-42 aCR.

I find it disappointing that the render (as of day one of the patch) the open in viewer model of the magsec shows it with the suppressor and holo sight. that shouldn't happen, it's just lazy. it feels like they needed A model for the viewer and thought we wouldn't care if it was wrong. it's wrong it's sloppy and it's lazy, put the right model in for it.

Two ways I see it....
It is ethier a way to introduce Tech 3 customization for weapons in the future. Or it will be relegated towards the Assault Magsec which would be odd because the base version should have a scope at most, the silencer kind of fits that logic kind of oddly but nonetheless....I would think that the former idea is what will happen.

This will be THE big announcment at Fanfest. It will be only this. You will get to see a whole awesome CGI movie advert about its amazingness and then get a "hands on" with it while you watch a "hands on" movie about how awesome Valkerie is going to be.

Silencer implies that the weapon is almost entirely quiet, while not true with real life modern day suppressors 23,000 years in the future and by video game standards the 'silencer' may indeed quiet the shot completely some extremely quiet tuning of the sound relatively compared to every other weapon.

CCP have been (supposedly) working on a weapon customisation system since pre-Chromosome. It's still in the "SOONGäó not soon" pile for now though, as far as anyone is aware.
I constantly find myself wanting - of all things - the weapon customisation system from BRINK. That game's custom weapons were pretty sweet.
Also, I want to put a Scope on my sniper friend's Forge Gun. |
