With the encouragement of using e-warfare as cloaks have been released this update, the only suits that can compete are scouts. If you were to enhance Assault precision down to a lower dB and a slight increase in base range, then it would be plausible and worthwhile for them to actually use range amplifiers and precision enhancers. I suggest taking it one step at a time and try a base of 44dB at 15 meters (down from 50 by 10). This still would leave scouts with a major advantage but still plenty of assaults will join e-war arms race.
As for logis, the scanner nerf was overkill. The snapshot change was enough, please increase the cooldown rate, not necessarily all the way down to pre 1.8 rates but throw logis a bone here. |

First the counter to scout is the scanner not the inherent scan precision. And yes scouts can beat most scanners when they want. Apart from the Cal scout even scouts need a scanner to counter themselves...
The cloak can easily be countered by looking for the moving "fairy dust" oh and shooting the fairy dust, while cloaked scouts don't carry a weapon (apart from rumors that there is still a bug with that) |

Seeing them is not the problem, it is when they are right behind you...if they are not dampened they should be able to be picked up. There should be a short delay between uncloaking and drawing a weapon, enough for some assaults who use e-war modules to have a chance to pick them up if they are not damped. They will still have the initiative but not so great they can shoot, decloak, shoot again before you can turn around. |

If you want an ewar suit, wear an ewar suit. Assaults are not ewar based suits. That is the domain of scouts and logis.
Yes, there are problems with the cloak that are gradually being addressed but the real problem is that assaults didn't get the slot/stat buffs they should have gotten in 1.8 alongside the light and heavy suits and the issue that their skill bonuses don't sufficiently enhance their role as assaults.

Logis are in the same boat as assaults with the exception of Gallogis with their scanner bonus...a slight buff on assaults e-war capabilities is completely reasonable. Your logic is that only scouts should be able to use e-war modules, SGs, nova knives, etc. Scouts should have a very high advantage in e-war, not complete domination. |

How to do uncloaking correctly.
I think assaults should focus on another bonus to make them stand out more. As for the video notice how he can't knife until he's completely opaque. That change alone will help assaults who have precision enhancers pick up someone uncloaking right behind them.
