"I met a fighter from a starbound land Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of steel Stand in the field. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered heavy lies, whose keel, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that repped them and the legs that fled: And on the pedestal these words appear: "My name is Logimandias, fixer of things: Look on my works, ye Heavy, and Repair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal gun, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away."
Modified poetry aside, this is a guide to all the Commandos out there that are either ex-logis and miss the rush or are just commados that need a few war points.
Either way, I have good news for you; Commandos are heavies with equipment slots! Bad news is you only get one and need to choose wisely.
I will run down the Equipment and the playstyles that Logimandos will need to achieve full teamwork potential.
Logimandos need to adhere to a single rule: YOU WILL BE FIRING BACK! Having all this firepower at you disposal and not using it is a waste. Otherwise, skill Logi you lightweight.
Logimandos are those brave souls that sprint into heavy fire areas to wreck havok and support their team as much as possible. Supressing fire is key. High ROF weapons or explosives are ideal for suppressing those pesky reds when you need to go in for the Revive.
The Equipment:
The Repair tool: Perhaps you have found a big Sentinel to soak up all the damage for you. What if he was fully tanked and had no means of Armour reps. This is where you come in. The Repair Logimando follows either a Heavy or fellow tanked Commandos into the field and provides repairs and covering fire. The Repair Logimando needs to be mildly tanked. Admit it, no matter how hard you try, things happen and you may lose your buddies; in that case, you still need to be a fully functional Commando. Luckily, the repair tool can be an afterthought and won't affect your fitting too much.
The Nanite Injector Another less invasive module, the Nanite injector allows the Logimedbro (I know the puns are bad) to revive his fallen comrades. The Logimedbro needs to be fast. A slow Logimedbro will get wrecked before he can get the rez. A Minmatar commando makes for good use here. A good Logimedbro will provide covering fire until his comrade has fully recovered.
The Nanohive The Nanohive can be one of the most versatile tools available to the Commando. The downside is that a good Nanohive requires decent amounts of PG/CPU so fitting may be an issue for the less skilled. A well placed Triage nanohive can be just the thing a squad needs in a sustained firefight. The downsides are that Nanohive are static and means that either your squad moves and it's a waste OR you set up a move defensive position. Remember, a still Commando can quickly become a dead Commando.
The Active Scanner Another CPU/PG intensive module, the Active scanner is crucial to mobile death squads. A dedicated active Scanmando can light hostiles up like a Christmas tree and then light said Christmas tree on fire. The only issue lies within fitting constraints. A really good Scanmando may have to sacrifice some tank in order to be effective.
[/b]Drop Uplinks[/b] A mobile Commando's best friend. All alone on an objective? Need backup? Friends too far away? Buy a Drop Uplink now for only some large amount of ISK. But seriously, well placed drop uplinks can mean the difference between a win and a loss. The only real downside is that the really good uplinks use up quite a bit of PG so are best fit in suits with PG to spare.

Leave it below. I love to hear it. P.S my word is not law, I am not an expert. I am not responsible the the preceding ideas cause death or grievous bodily harm.

The guys in the ARC squad roll with wyrkomi needles. Commando is the last Amarr suit I have not dabbled in, I might put a rep tool on it, we'll see. Uplinks will stay on my logi suit, I am not part of the #fakelogiexodus and have not abandoned it!

Hmm...I am in the process of picking my next suit and was just about decided on the CalScout.
You've got me thinking that perhaps the CalCommando might be quite interesting
