I'm loving my proto gal scout so far, although I never run above advanced, and I'm thinking about skilling cal scout upto advanced. But how os ot running a scout suit without skilling upto proto? That bonus to cloak fitting could be quite painful to live without, and not having the full bonuses to the ewar would be a shame.
So anyone running a scout at only lvl 3? |

I was prior to 1.8 and it worked fine. Now...if you want to run cloaks then you either need level 5 scout or maxed out cores. You just lose too much fitting space otherwise.
For the other bonus skills it isn't so bad, particularly if they're backed up a high level of EWAR and biotics and/or modules.

This is mostly true but I find that even with maxed Core Upgrades I can barely fit a Basic Scout wit a Basic Cloak at level 3 Caldari Scout. It is worse for low SP players.
As stated, I have Caldari Scout 3 but I just use Basic suits because I am cheap and find that I do only moderately better with a 40k suit over a 10k suit. The bonuses to the scan is pretty cool. I can see people from far away and can even catch some cloaked scouts, though I do have to go a specific scan suit for it with my skills not being perfect. The biggest thing is the Cloak itself. It eats so much CPU/PG that I can only put basic gear in it even, as stated above, maxed CPU/PG dropsuit skills.
I am not sure why you would go from Prototype X Y to Advanced Z Y though. You could put the points into doing a completely separate role rather than go from Scout to Scout, but that is just me.

I just skilled ADV Caldari scout and all my Core Skills are maxed out. I haven't had any trouble fitting the STD cloak with a mixture of ADV and STD modules/weapons. Comes out to about 27,000 or so ISK.
I spent half my ISK on gambling, alcohol and wild women. The rest I wasted.

Ah, so not really worth it then? Was more to be able to have a better scanning scout suit, 1 complex precision on my gal scout picks up a lot of cloaked suits atm. Olan b is the caldari sentinal then, militia cal heavy with proto hmg is melting alot if faces |
