Yea it's balanced. If you and your teammates had just an ounce of guts, you could turn that around because 73 to 140 isn't nothing. I've seen battles where folks came back from 40 to win the entire match.
The problem is, we have too many people, like you, who don't know how to take a punch. So when you get hit in the jaw, you run back to the hideout and cry about how balanced it is.
How are you supposed to be a mercenary and rise to take on those who are elite if the first thing you do is run when the poop hits the fan? You and many others keep playing the way you do, and you will be nothing more than cannon fodder for competitive folks like me to dine on.

For fun. Dying a bunch in a match isn't fun to me. Kudos to you for having fun while losing isk. If I'd been in a squad with people, I'd have kept going and supported the squad. As I was solo (along with every single person from my team, mind you), I had no desire or motivation to do anything other than sit in the MCC.
You can play for whatever you like. I play for fun. Also, LOL @ mercenary thing. I'm not a mercenary. I don't delve into my games like a child and pretend I'm what they are. Just a dude with a controller and time to burn. |

Rhetoric and condescending speeches dont pay the bills. On one side, you have Mercs who belong to PC corps who are getting their proto gear financed. On the other, you have average or new mercs who pay out of pocket for their equipment.
When im in a situation like that, its not so bad for me, cause as a logi, i have the versatility to keep trying to support any effort my team makes. So if I finish 1-3, or 1-5, or 2-4 or 3-1, or w/e, it doesnt matter cause im still getting 700+ WP for the match, and im still touching 100K + ISK at the end.
However, for the folks in the MCC who are 0-7 and 0-8, with under 200WP, they are exhausted, they are done trying. They will be lucky to get 100K for that match. Their suit losses have already eclipsed any possible payout. There is zero reason for them to keep trying. Not only are they not having fun, they will finish the match in the ISK red.
A few games like that, and a new player will leave and not come back. We are supposed to be helping this game grow, not killing it off before it ever gets a chance to reach potential. Now you can say whatever justification/apologize speech that you want. It doesnt change the fact that some people are having such little fun, that they are hiding and waiting for the clock to run out.
instead of being all pig headed and saying "HTFU bro get on my level", you should be asking why a guy who is 0-8 and a guy who is 23-1 are in the same match. Public Contracts is supposed to be the casual mode; Planetary Conquest is supposed to be the competitive mode. Locking up the competitive mode to farm ISK which is then used to smash casuals in Public Contracts is not what I call "competitive".
One more thing; as much as you wish it wasnt so, its the casual market that drives Free to Play games. They provide stable population and casual spending of real money on useless trinkets. The casual market will not "HTFU", they will take their player population and their $$$, and they will go elsewhere. That leaves you with a dead game. |
