I upgraded heavy machine gun optimization that says,"5% PG reduction" to level 2. BS IT DID. My PG usage is still 51. Such wasted SP

5% isnt big enough to bring it down by an entire point of usage but it dose stack with fitting skills. since its an optimizaiton it is still isnt as good asthe core skills. and sicne pwr grid is lower in numbers compared to cpu. (the cpu reductions are huge due to higher numbers) power grid reductions arent as noticeble.

You're going to have to accompany this with some maths if you expect anyone to offer any kind of relevant opinion.

If your using a base HMG, it doesn't round up. If your using a higher level, well, I have a man with 2 levels as well that disagrees with it not working. Its only 1 though.

The basic HMG only uses 5 PG which means it would take until level 5 to see a one point reduction.
The prototype uses 10 PG meaning each 2 levels would remove 1 PG point at that level.
I am basing this on there not being any rounding because I have not seen anything on if numbers are rounded up or down.
If 51 PG is a problem for you I have to assume you are using an advance level suit with only level 4 engineering. If I am right it sounds like it is time for the long hard grind for level 5 engineering is ready to begin. Do not worry L5 engineering and CPU are expensive but they open up some fun fitting potential assuming your plates / reppers / weapons are maxed out. |

Just be sure when you use it to give the fit to everyone. I do love hearing 50% QQ and 50% attempt to troll them.

I'm not certain but I think there is rounding. But from some reason 0.5 rounds down.
Visiam Laser Rifle uses 10 PG. Ishukone Assault SMG uses 11 PG.
With fitting optimisation trained to level 1 I saved 1 PG from the SMG but 0 from the laser. 5% of 10 is 0.5. 5% of 11 is 0.55.
Training it to 2 for the laser saved me 1 PG. |

Edit: Did it really take 14 posts for someone to realize this?

Judging from the thread title, I'm guessing you want Heavies to have a smaller hitbox?
Sorry, I was about to post that but then I decided to actually read the OP.
WTF kind of tier 5 (at least) HMG are you using? How can I get one of those? does it hit like a Forge Gun or something? The BASELINE value for the Freedom Assault HMG - which has the highest PG use of any I can find in the normal in-game marketplace - is 12 PG.
Yours is somehow using MORE THAN FOUR TIMES THAT AMOUNT.
I want to see the rest of the stats on that thing. It must be the most OP thing in the game to have fitting costs like that.
(imagine the CPU usage... probably need a Gunnlogi to fit it)
More seriously though... what Rusty Shallows said. That "PG" number you're looking at? That's the CPU cost. |

I have it to lvl 2 as well. It works fine. You do realize it only takes the HMG's PG right? Not the entire suit's PG.
Boundless uses 10 PG. With the skill at 2 the PG costs becomes 9. |
