With ambush still being almost unplayable I am saying we scrap it entirely and add a new gamemode with limits on equipment.

This wouldn't actually help that much. Between more skill points (and passive bonuses) as well as just being... better, many of the pubstompers will still stop in a militia-only match. In actuality, the most powerful thing in the game is squads. Organized squads, gear or no gear, will always beat random newbies.
The real solution to this is to disallow squads in ambush, so that you can't stack up a team for stomping the match. Matchmaking would also work better if it didn't have to contend with squad groupings. Ambush is a game mode with no real objectives, so there's no reason for team coordination anyhow.
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

You can't really stop people from working together, and larger corps will simply cue sync into pubs if they can't squad up. Either way your idea won't stop pub stomping.
I think what the OP is really asking for is a safe haven for new players. Why not just extend the WP needed to get out of the battle achademy. Its not all militia and basic but even extended out to 3 mil total sp you wouldn't have many people running suits too far beyond basic.

It was never sp based but the WP needed to exit was much higher. Apparently the WP limit was lowered because new players were complaining about how long they were in the academy which was affecting retention. I bet the new players who said that still quit, or perhaps they are really kicking themselves.

Come on, it give the newbies SOME chance to win.
