..err I mean Rhadamanthus.
How do you judge the recent change made to Rail Tanks in regards to their range? Looking at the change, it reminds me of an old video you posted some time ago.

The range change does seem somewhat inline with my video. Remember though that a correlation is not the same as causation.

Kinda BS i can't even touch an ADS inside the Orbital Artillery socket, thx to: buildings blocking my angle upon getting into range, hills being too far away from which i could actually gain the elevation to tag that ADS, and the fact that now, missile installations are the new infinirange Rail.
If this is what the community wanted(handheld super expensive AV to take down 1 ADS) then i guess i'll be skilling swarms.
I refuse to gve honor to your 'god' so therefore i dual tank.

I ADS a bit...AV swarms and working forge guns are working better. Check the kill feeds...swarms are back...and commandos have made running them easily viable. |

we need a period of adjustment before we can fully assess the changes. I am talking to CCP about this. I will let them know if the changes ruined the rail tank role. At the moment we have the redline railers, used to infinite range, invulnerability and fitting no tank just damage mods having to adjust to getting their tanks onto the battlefield. They now have to contend with people hitting them while trying to hit others; something they are not used too There is a whole section of the tanking community that have ONLY ever played with the ridiculous advantages the redline rail had.
The burn zone is a scary place to these soft players. Let them adjust. Let them learn what the rest of us know. Fighting hurts ; and it costs. Then we can look again. Their skin needs to thicken a bit first.

Do you think it laughs because it is OP or because your enemy is poorly prepared?

I have noticed more rail tanks coming into the burn zone and it's nice to see redline rail tanks becoming practically a thing of the past.

You guys should just quit playing. I mean you are sending CCP the wrong signals if you continue to play this game in the broken state it is in.
I for one am at least going to wait till they announce something at fanfest (IF) before I contemplate playing DUST again. |

I do have advanced swarm launchers, but I still can't kill my target. Of course, that's mainly because as soon as I start firing they will start looking for me and fire back. And since I need LOS in order to lock on and shoot, I am completely exposed. Perhaps dumb fire mechanic would help. But then again, I still have horrible nightmares about dumb fire swarms back in Replication.
PS: That and my team sometimes sucks so I got no backup.

I personally think it's bs for you to tag something twice with your rail and kill it when it costs 2x-3x as much as your tank, and requires a lot more skill to use >.>;

If this is what the community wanted(handheld super expensive AV to take down 1 ADS) then i guess i'll be skilling swarms. Time to request decent small turrets. I'd love to have small turrets get a near vertical potential elevation, coupled with a range profile(that means you small blaster turrets) that would allow them to more than tickle a dropship. Minmatar small auto cannon turrets would be excellent, but all racial small turrets should be viable for this.
The range on the small blaster turrets is something that needs to be fixed as they just aren't any good for dropships, be it the main ADS gun, or side turrets, but that debate is for another thread.

Please don't make the mistake. Swarms are useless. Go Forge.
When I fire Proto Swarms at a dropship, it simply activates its hardeners and flies toward the source. It can tank the two, three, a dozen volleys. No way to tell. On the flipside, I can withstand precisely one blast from his cycled missile launcher.
Same with tanks. Fire your proto AV to "chase them away" and now they come for you.
"Anti-Vehicle"? Proto? Proficiency? A f*cking farce when it comes to Swarms.
Don't waste your time and Isk.

except missiles on an ads can 2-3 shot almost any infantry, and have splash, however, they do need to lower ads cost to around that of basic tanks

A 50% range nerf was uncalled for.
I was thinking something more along the lines of range reduced to 400m or 500m down from 600m and elevation reduced to 40deg or 35deg down from 45deg, coupled with maybe a damage buff and RoF nerf. Of course for that damage tweak, the real alpha strike picture will play out when we have Pulse and Beam Laser, and Autocannon and Artillery Projectiles.
