Yep. Turret AI is OP. Let us hope that when PvE is introduced it doesn't have the same AI.

This just in .....anything that kills Atiim needs toned down.
As this is just a picture and not a video it is inadmissible as evidence for all we know you were in a dropship flying away from the turret when the last shots hit, your forward momentum would then take yoi far enough away from the offending turret to give that sort of range reading .... just saying .

Or eliminated. I'd be for making installations more difficult to destroy but only operable by players. It would also be interesting to have players actually "step into" the installations so they can't be so easily killed; another player would have to hack the turret to eject the player operating it. Make the hack time shorter so you can still surprise the player. But at least this way a player operating a turret couldn't be easily killed from a distance, and the idea of "holding" a turret as a battlefield asset would begin to make some sense.
As I often do, this is just spitballing. It might not be a good idea.

You don't need a video to know how ridiculous AI is. I've merely driven by rail installations, never shooting them or provoking them, and get two shotted for doing nothing whatsoever. If you stand in front of them long enough they get hungry... and they like it roasted. |

Simple fix to your personal turret problems is not to drive right by red turrets when using labs and stop tap dancing in front of blasters.

I for one despise the Railgun Installations, having perfect accuracy on my LAV going 90MPH. I would've prefered someone controlling it, honestly. And this is many occasions, regardless of whether I'm in a tank, on foot, etc.. They just go beast mode when I enter their radius of death.
Yes, we shall call it the Radius of Death when they detect you.
Before taking anything seriously here, check the date.

I feel the need to defend atiim... at this point. Sure, he does ask for things to be nerfed, but at the same time, he created a great, well thought out mCRU thread. (Ok, it's a very important thread to me, but just a side thread to those that are not dropship pilots

Never been hit by turret AI. On the few times it decides to shoot me, I circle in and the AI turret shots always land to one side or the other. Especially apparent with blaster installations.
Missile installations are the only thing on the planet dumber than some of these blueberries. Every AI missile installation I've seen insists on shooting enemy null cannons if they have LoS to one.

I think turret AI should remain how it is to kill scrubs like Atiim, if not increase the AI to create a better scrub-filter

My point is that you literally have to do nothing for them to kill you, which is ridiculous for an AI that sits there and can instakill you. A free weapon shouldn't be that powerful, have aimbot, perfect accuracy, turns instantly, never is concerned about reloading, overheating, and etc. They're just horribly broken... you may as well add infantry AI that slaughter anything within 400m and are fully mobile. |

I highly doubt that the forward momentum could propel me far enough to the point where it would read 540m on the killscreen.
The picture's all I got. My apologies for not having my camera device ready, as I usually don't expect to be sniped from a Blaster Turret at 540m.

I don't know. One minute I'm going to revive someone, and the next I'm getting sniped by a turret. I tried making it to cover but my suit wasn't fast enough.

In fact, I want neutral AI turrets to attack blues and reds until they get hacked.
Then there would be a legitimate fuckin reason to destroy all neutral turrets on sight. |
