When items are no longer useful to our character (toon, alt, whatever) we need a place to get them OUT of our inventory. They just clutter the place up. The scrolling through the inventory would be faster and when (if) the player market opens we could sell these premium pieces to New Belles and hope they [s]choke on them[s] get full enjoyment out of them like we did. A lonely ISK would be better than having these in our inventory. Latest choice - scanners.
And nobody needs to be reminded that they wasted SP/ISK/AUR on something that is no longer useful or worse never was.
Welcome to New Eden, where decisions have consequences. Because the Nerf Hammer of Doom negated your original decision.
And so it goes.

Great idea, +1. I had no clue how many crap suits I had sitting in my inventory until I went and rebuilt almost my entire fitting list (boy was that f*cking tedious) after 1.8.
As for the player market, I don't know that I see much demand for militia basic frames. I have at least a dozen from every race, both light and medium. Literally no idea where they came from. Must have been random salvage. Same for all the breach scrambler pistols and SG's the game seems to think I want.

Eve Online has a similar system already in place. It's called a Station Vault or Warehouse Container. No seriously, it's an actual container or vault that sits in the hangar of the station you are currently docked in. This has a cargo space of approximately 10,000,000 cubic meters where you can put away anything including repackaged ships, ammo, minerals, modules, etc. It's also great for categorizing your inventory as you can rename the containers to whatever you want. As an miner in Eve Online, I do this all the time and it's very helpful to separate your ore from your other commodities.
However, these vaults or warehouse containers are so large that you are completely unable to move them from one station to another due to the fact that there is no ship in existence that is capable of hauling such a large item. Therefore wherever you purchase or manufacture this vault or warehouse that is where it will be for the rest of its life.

I agree if we were allowed to sell our equipment for isk that would be quite helpful. If we could sell to other players or back to the market at 50% of original or current purchase price that would be quite nice. |

Yep, that has no delivery date though. CCP/Shanghai has been working on it since early closed beta. I wouldn't advise holding your breath. Unless you live with an EMT.
I will be amazed if the player market ever happens. CCP is very cautious regarding the EVE economy. They will limit Dust if there is a hint that it might effect EVE Online.
And so it goes.
