Nope, it has nothing to do with owning a district. It's a method of remaining competitive without a ridiculous cost for those who can't afford a clone pack every day.

There is no reason corporations on the planet should be expected to defend against AE, or the combined force of DNS. After all, even despite FA's continuous victories they could not keep it up. Why would individual corporations possibly be expected to do any different?

End goal? There is no 'end goal'. PFC is a perpetual planet that was intended to be constantly preserved so that corporations could train. For each and every corp their objective is to improve, but that is by no means an 'end goal'. For us? It was to fight and practice, train our new guys and keep active.

I can't speak for everyone but 843 have a constant inflow of new players. We are not elitist we strive to keep all of our players involved, not just the ones who have the most SP and experience.

We field 100% unless we absolutely have to field ringers, and even the we field alliance. This doesn't speak for everyone, sure, but this effects corporations that work honestly, too.
I just wanted to clear a few things up. Don't take this as a personal attack Wolfica, but don't turn up your nose at the corporations just because they cannot so easily contend with the likes of Ancient Exiles attacking their districts, unannounced. We aren't openly crying about this, but I don't blame the people who are. It means they can practice, they can't train, they can't ever get better. It's not a big deal to any of you who join together out of fear, but it is for those who are still trying to get better.
