When 1.8 first came out, I was afraid that maybe Cloaking would be FOTM, OP, then nerfed after floods of complaints. My thoughts now after trying it out...just right. It's balanced for the most part. I'm sure there might be some instances where it needs a bit more tweaking, but I think overall it's just right. Personally, I think it should be left alone with no tweaks. Especially the Dampening coupled with the Cloaking. Maybe the only tweak I can think of is to have Dampening only become activated when away from objectives such as being in the mountains or near red lines. Why would Dampening be needed when in close range when they can't see you anyway other than on the radar?
Some might think switching to weapons after de-cloaking quickly isn't right, but I think it's way better than using weapons while being cloaked. I found myself having a hard time trying to switch to weapons when de-cloaking, but with the right planning, I'm able to take down opponents at close range. I'm especially pleased I can take down heavies with scrambler / ion pistols at close-range after de-cloaking. With this said, I think it's fair to have this kind of power when it comes to heavies having so much HP and firepower from far away.

No. It has no weakness.
Flux needs to drain it by a good chunk and/or temporarily deactivate it.

Needs a longer delay between decloaking and pulling up your weapon, it also needs to make the same sound that a nearby player spawning in makes when it decloaks.

But why? Nobody can use weapons while being cloaked, so why need the delay for de-cloaking? Delaying would put the de-cloaked player at a disadvantage. |
