You might reserve judgment until you load up. 1.7 was the dawn of the hardener, and AV became much more difficult without your own tank. 1.8 reduced the grenade count from 3 - 2, and nerfed damage mods, hampering AV even further. The 2 tank max was supposed to turn tankbush back into ambush, and the hardener nerf was supposed to balance the damage mod nerf a bit I believe. I've been out of town for a few days so I haven't played since the hardened 'bush patch, but it sounded like an appropriate fix to me. They also shortened the range on rail turrets to flush redline rail tankers out. Not a perfect solution, but preferable to spending all game trying to keep those dudes pinned behind cover so you could move across open ground without getting blapped by the vehicle equivalent of a heavy with a thale.

I made my name by being a rail tanker. back then I wouldn't run a tank solo if there was another tanker with equal skill on the opposite side, none of you would help me to take them out so why would I waste 1.5 million ISK for no reason? and yes my play style was more difficult than being a slayer. being a tanker means you need an IQ above 90, being a slayer only makes your IQ drop every time you pull the trigger. Being a great tanker requires situational awareness, patience & some intelligence, I will admit. But due to the fact that you aren't a good tanker... it doesn't apply. Being a slayer is very rewarding & probably the most selfish role so I get why everyone loves to hate them. To say that it is easy compared to tanking though? Not even remotely true. Being an efficient slayer is by far the most difficult role to fill. When you say me & most my friends you are ofc referring to the rest of N-F, only your lack of a backbone prevents you from actually saying it. I can tell you w/ the utmost certainty that the majority of N-F wasn't far worse than you were. You weren't even in the top half dude, you were only used in PC when we were scraping the bottom of the barrel. Never did I see you actually excel even when we were facing teams w/o any real AV. If you don't mind me asking; Do you have to take an entry test before CCP allows you to tank or do they determine what your IQ is based on your gaming ability? I will admit, being a good tanker does require some situational awareness, patience & skill but due to the fact that you aren't a good tanker... it doesn't apply.
