It came from Starcraft, bceause even though Starcraft was built on a modified version of the game engine created for Warcraft II, it came first.  |

I first saw it used in WC3 PvP but i was under the impression it originated from WC2. I don't know of any other PC games at that time that shared the same KB shortcut & as WC2 came before SC i'd be willing to bet that that was where it originated.
