Anyone out there run a cloaked Commando? I, just for laughs, specc'd into level 1 of Cloak Fields and RR (Because obviously my LRs and ScR aren't doing jack to armor tankers). I then fitted my ADV Amarr Commando with:
1 Rail Rifle
1 Assault Rifle (Need 1 more level in Dropsuit Engineering to equip an ADV AR)
2 Basic Profile Dampeners
Level 2 in Profile Dampening
1 STD Cloak Field
Now, if my math is correct (which I do not pride myself on) I should get the following:
Profile of ~30.24
Now.... Unless Profile Dampeners have a stacking penalty on them, that is including a 30% reduction to the profile, bringing me to ~41 which in itself is enough to evade standard suit scanning. Note: nowhere does it say they have a penalty, so... Am I wrong?)
So I am effectively a PhatScout with basic weapons. Sure, it might not be entirely practical, but it sure as hell works against all but your proto'd guys. Not only have I successfully camped objectives, but managed to flank heavies and other cloakers because I just y'know... Move around the corner and do The Predator. Here is my fit:

I don't know the rest of the fit, but I've seen a cloaked commando using a Shotgun and Rail Rifle in a Domination map.
It was loltastic. |

It definitely is a fit you would use for fun because who doesn't enjoy being fat AND invisible? Unfortunately I didn't spec into infantry specifically otherwise I'd be having even more fun. |
