Today is my last day having internet service for the next several months (symptoms of being poor), so on this last day of internet access I am going to give you my feedback on 1.8. I'll try to keep this as concise as I can make it so it doesn't become a novella.
First off, vehicles.
I think 1.8 has done wonders for AV (barring the forge gun bug). Repper stacking is still an issue, but the hardner tanks and dropships are now well balanced with swarms and forge guns (again, barring the forge gun bug). However, the current STD tank is about at the level of survivability against proto AV that a proto tank should be at. If you were to take that level of survivability and build the other tanks down from there, I think that would make adding back in proto tanks not only doable but doable in a timely manner. The current militia tank would become the new STD, the STD would become the PRO and there would be an ADV built between them & a new MLT one built to replace the old one. Just my thoughts on it.
Militia LAV's have far too much survivability. A proto packed AV grenade should 1-shot any militia LAV unless the driver has specced LAV's and put some money into it. STD LAV's are at a good point right now on survivability, could use a bit more survivability for those that are specced up though. As for dropships, other than the repper stacked ones I see no issues with them now that hardners have been adjusted.
Small blaster turrets could use a buff and small missile turrets would be about perfect with more accuracy+slightly less splash radius, other than that no complaints.
On to infantry.
The new suits and weapons have added a WORLD of diversity to the battlefield, and I LOVE it! You have to pay close attention to what it is you are fighting before you engage, and you also have to make the decision to either run heavy damage to only armor or shields, or go with a balanced approach and run a main weapon for one and a sidearm for the other. Or run a flux and hope your aim is good. 
Weapon balance is as close to perfect as I have ever seen it in Dust. I am amazed at how close to perfect you have hit it with this one. There is no longer one weapon that rules the battlefield for the first time since Uprising started! Cloaked shotty scouts are everywhere of course, but some minor tweaks to the cloaks will thin them out fast enough. All you have to do is make the cloaked individual manually de-cloak before they can change to their weapon. Meaning they have to hit the R1 button (or let their cloak run out) and fully de-cloak before they can use their R2 button to switch to their weapon. I'm seeing a wide variety of weapons that I used to never see hitting the battlefield again, and it is AWESOME! Lasers! Mass drivers! GEKs! Plasma cannons even!
I do have one beef, and that is the scrambler pistol. You DID go overboard on that nerf a bit. I think the RoF nerf would be ok if it didn't hit so hard. You should probably either buff the RoF back up a bit (a BIT) OR return the RoF to it's previous value and just drop the base damage. (I vouch for option 2, the spam-fire was pretty much THE perk of the weapon other than the headshot multiplier).
As for FW & PC, I haven't participated in 1.8 so I have no word on that.
The 3 things I want from Dust when I get back online in 2-8 months:
1. Being able to see if a person in a chat channel is in a squad
2. Being able to see if a person in a chat channel is in a battle.
3. WORKING GRENADE INDICATORS!
That's all from me. Thank you CCP Frame, CCP Cmdr Wang, CCP Logibro, CCP Wolfman, CCP Sabrewing, CCP Eterne, CCP FoxFour and GM Unicorn for the FANTASTIC last 2 years I have spent in Dust. This game has been my home for so long now that I will be beside myself with longing while I am away. It's been a fantastic ride and I hope to return to see an even MORE balanced and content filled Dust 514 for me to jump back into.

@501st: I greatly appreciate the thought, however when I mean I will have no internet access, I mean I will have no way of accessing the internet AT ALL. I am poor, so I don't own any portable internet devices, I have no IRL friends to borrow internet from, I am on very poor terms with my neighbors, and the only reason I have a 38" 1080p TV, ps3 & ps4 is because of income taxes. I also have no access to a library, so I won't be able to email you. Once again, I greatly appreciate the thought though. o7
