Are scouts OP? They are just as annoying before 1.8...( Looking at you RONIN squads ......[the pain of those matches )...bricked tanked GalScouts were a thing before 1.8...not a word til after. If you died from a scout you died from either behind or from the side and you never saw them coming...still the same but now people blame cloaks for that.....you died cause they knew where you were from passive scans and stalked you..hasn't changed. Shotty scouts were a thing before 1.8 a lot of scouts used them they were just as effective and annoying... "but now with cloaks they can just camp objectives" ...they did that before... they knew you were coming and avoided you til you started hacking. Nothing about the scouts changed..only thing that changed was now there is a large influx of scouts cause players wanted to try out the cloak...with or without cloaks good scouts would have ****** you up.
So I guess the real issue is that there are too many scouts on the field now? People rather not look out for shimmering outlines cause that would require some effort? Nerf scouts cause they are a better Assault Suit? Not their fault that Assaults need some fixing up to make them look appealing to use again. They really do need more than just 1 bonus they need 2-3 to help them make them a assault role that keeps up the pressure on front lines..but that is another issue.

I play as a scout, and shotgun scouts aren't even that useful anymore. With the growing number of heavies, all they are is a guaranteed 1:1 KDR
Instead, I prefer amarr scouts with scrambler rifles. They're practically slower, long-range shotguns.

correct sir scouts still do half the same stuff as before but now thanks to the clacker we can avoid slow minded people who want easy kills lol. i dont care for cloak in the least but i laugh when i see these fotm tards try to use cloak and get slaughtered over and over. cloak does not make anyone good it just helps them move form A to B without getting C'd and D stroyed. ps somebody QQ im getting weak.

Blind people is the problem with Scouts. I had no idea some people played using Braille. Perhaps we should throw them a bone and add an auditory queue that says, "Prepare your anus" whispered softly into their ears as we decloak. |

What happened to the true good snipers and scouts, like Appia?
Us snipers and true scouts get a bad rap unfortunately because of these "fake new blood" who call themselves "scouts."
Screw that, they're in here for the cloaks. Cloaks are FotM. Us old bloods didn't need cloaks to be effective, we were effective just because WE WERE.
Simple as that. To be honest, all these new scouts are doing are compensating for their lack of skill by using cloaks to get their kills dirtily. I can still spy 'em a mile away and peg 'em with my SR.
And I will do so. The worst I've seen is a dirty cloaked logi; thought he was a sneaky bastard till I got that headshot kill :)

I do think the scout craze will die off sooner rather than later because of the high death rate of scouts once they start killing. Many scouts don't make it out alive after taking down a merc or two. I usually put the scout that kills me into deep armor and they are usually in the kill feed soon after. Scouts are dangerous but as we grow more accustomed to how they operate and how cloaks behave the death rate will go up and find a good balance. Now they are FotM but they probably cost a good bit to use and will probably die off as more and more people realize that it is expensive to die multiple times each match for a few more extra kills.

The clack has actually made my scouting worse as I get a bit too cocky with it and always end up running right in front of someone. And if you run in front of someone with only 300 EHP, you're going to have a bad time.

Those aren't true scouts. Those are Scalts, as I like to put 'em. Scout assaults. Vanguard Scouts seem to be a good term as well.
Us recons on the other hand, don't do much dying. We sit in mountains and peg people from massive distances unless we have the unfortune to die by ramming (LAV) or dropship shot.
Honestly, who needs cloak when you die so few times?

My scout suits all have more PG and CPU and slots than before, so it's not just the cloaks that have made them better.

Actually Decloaking before you killed would be suffecient enough. Its not they are overpowered as such but they most definitely do not work as intended. That's where the crux of the problem lies.
Its not spotting them when they try to Assassinate you, its when they bowl in with more health than me, mid-firefight and kill you without decloaking. I least want to be able to say "oh ****" before being blasted into next tuesday, is so much more dramatic that way!
Unless your a Computer Scientist don't tell me how Game Mechanics Work.

The "Ninja" is a scout role that dies more than the Recon..well maybe it can be considered a Vanguard?. Ninja usually goes in hacks the point wipes out any opposition if able and out..sometimes is doesn't work out too well |
