I skilled into at lvl 1 just to see what it can do. I want to give it some more time and dedication to see how to optimize it but for now, its really not cutting it for me.
The rate of fire feels...odd...for the battlefield conditions. Don't have the greatest aim so if I'm moonwalking left and right while firing, I found myself missing a shot since I haven't learned its timing yet. Pew....pew....pew....pew. I'm used to weapons that drum roll like GEK with its snare rolls and RR (QQ...I miss you man) tom slapping.
Of course it gets better if I level it up further but is it worth it? Anybody skilled with the Bolt and liking it? Anyone not? Share your opinions...

Have it at prof. 2, and looking to get it to 5. It may have a low rate of fire, but it hits like a truck when you do land hits. I'm talking 3 shotting basic or militia suits. It has become my favorite sidearm. If you practice with it enough, you get used to the charge shot.

It's amazing. It's not your average side arm and not to be used in close quarters. I only have operation 4 but this weapon will scale amazingly with proficiency turning into a pocket sniper rifle.

Level 1 is fun on a dampened scout with percision enhancers, as long as you hide well it's better to use it as a sidearm sniper to kill jack wounded prey

It is a lot better than the Ion Pistol IMO. Though I still prefer the standard SMG over both because the delay in firing throws off my aim. |

@Cyrius Li-Moody nice vid. Funny how you pop that guy going up those crates with the Bolt. Your firing were synchronized with his jumps. Hilarious. And that track was real dope. Thanks for the add to the music library.

I've only used the standard one, but I've had success with it. My only problem so far is the Magazine capacity. It's just a tad too small. I'd personally bump it up to 8.

Used it for a few rounds today, just L1 SP and basic pistol. Like it, got kills with it, complements my shotty for longer range engagements.
Gonna give it some more time, but chances are it will be my go-to due to the longest range of the sidearms.
That is, if I drop the nerfed ScP from my fits. Not sure how bad the ScP nerf is, but I was dying on patch day with my opponent on 20-50 HP remaining, so gonna have to compare them together and decide at some point. |

that gun is my magnum lol im a gunslinger so accuracy is fine timing is fine (lets be real if its shot any faster it would be OP) and regardless of where you shoot em the get wrecked i love it.

It's a breach scrambler pistol with longer range, and a really good scope... In short it's a pocket sniper rifle and it can be used to *wreck* some suits. I have dropped proto gallente heavies with it and all I have is bolt pistol operation 1, I plan on going to proficiency 3 in it at least eventually, but my skillpoints are currently tied up with other stuff.
I don't really like the magsec currently though, It might be better with a scope. |

I can confirm that the Bolt continues to wreck dropsuits even more as you skill it up. (Personally have it at Prof. 4, Opt 5, Rel 4, and ammo 4. Yes, I really love this gun that much.)
My favorite kills with it so far are from getting headshots on LAV drivers coming at me in my scout suit.

A bit of advice for up-and-coming Gunslingers with the BP: Unless it's a bug of some sort, I can say that the ammo skill is worthless. Level 4 so far, and one extra bullet isn't worth the SP for most people. (OFC, that's one more player you can put down before having to go find a friendly logi or a supply depot.)
Rapid reload make the BP even more fun though, that's for sure. 
This is the Kaalakiota Bolt Pistol- the most powerful handgun in New Eden.

I haven't used the BP myself, but from what I've seen it's supposed to be like a Deagle (Desert Eagle, u no?). Low RoT Really high damage output.
Medics have a role in the battlefield TOO, you know.

Tried both pistols, and compared to the ScrP of now.
Ion is like an assault rifle, not very good at taking down tanked opponents, but decent at close range, like most assault plasma rifles.
Bolt is comparable to the Rail Rifle in ammo type and range, but it initially put me off due to some sort of bug (range dropoff, where it is usually optimal. Glad I'm not the only one getting this). But I tried it later, and being the perfectionist I am, it works like a charm. Have to tell you that you won't last against a RR user with it tho. 
The Scrambler is definitely slower, and feels "bulkier". Some traditionalists may still favor it, but I honestly am getting on to the bolt pistol. |

I run the Bolt Pistol as my sidearm for my "Assault Sapper" load out (Adv Min Assault, Std Mass Driver, Adv Bolt Pistol, Std REs... perfect for softening up targets, wiping equipment stockpiles, or saying 'F**K YOU!' to Sicas, LAVs, or Turrets) to give myself a more direct fire weapon to compliment my mass driver for when I get attacked and I have to say I quite like it...
Sure the rate of fire is kind of slow, and you have to make sure you practice keeping your sights on your target while strafing, but the thing is basically EVE's hand cannon with its 6 round clip and high damage per shot making it perfect for popping scouts or medium suits that tend to come after me as well as a great finisher on damaged heavies while trying to stay out of HMG range.

Moody : Nice. That headshot kill at the end there was some sharp shooting!
Solitar : I'm likely an average Joe. I can kill with it immediately. Perhaps I have some advantage because I have used pure Scrambler Pistol pre 1.8? My only decision is whether or not to stick with the ScP and finish that skill tree, or go Bolt Pistol. I think in the end, range will decide this for me. BP is longer range, right?

If I spec back into heavy on my alt, I will be using an HMG and the BP. Pretty sure of that, coz the ScP is pretty similar range to the HMG I guess. |

I like it a lot. Currently at OP 5. Not sure whether to get prof though since it already shreds armor. I will say, it's not your average side arm. It's BAD at cqc unlike all the other sidearms in dust. Which sometimes is frustrating. But when you use it right, it's pretty awesome.
