Considering that proficiencies have been rebalanced, the player proposed balances on the Gallente TAR are obsolete, and actually put the weapon at a serious disadvantage.
Namely, the magazine is too small. It's 18 rounds, and this reduced clip size was introduced during a time when 11 rounds was sufficient to down most heavies.
The rate of fire cap is also unnecessary and handicapping, as overall ttk has been increased. This rate of cap, also prevents the Gal TAR from properly competing against its Scrambler and Caldari counterparts. As Gallente it has the shortest range, and should be able to counter them within its appropriate ranges.
I will provide a set of proposed stats for consideration, to get the TAR caught up. |

No. What you are asking for will lead to people with modded controllers spamming that weapon like it was going out of style, again. All it needs is a slight range buff (to just below the combat rifle's range) and it will be fine.

The 18 rounds in the TAR are miniscule compared to the 54 rounds of the CR, the 42 rounds of the RR, and the 45 rounds of the SCR. The damage it does per shot, does not compensate for this short-coming. The rebalance of the TAR was for a different time, and different set of mechanics. That rebalance is now obsolete.
At the minimum, a range increase, magazine increase, and rate of fire increase is necessary to bring it to competitive standards today.
It also needs to be better than the scr and rr at close range, which it currently isn't. It needs to be updated. |

I'm feeling a sense of obligation here, as I was the one that proposed the TAR's current stats in the first place. It was just slightly modified as people saw fit.
We should seriously consider rolling back the changes, because the damage mods arent a factor anymore, and proficiency isnt a factor anymore. |

I would like to keep the smaller clip but give it higher damage per shot. the TAC AR should be a DMR, not the pile of garbage it is now.
IMO Gallente keep getting the shaft just as things start looking up. Armour was buffed to keep us in line with the super quick recharge of the Calamari, then our weapons get clogged with icky nerfbat sweat.
Buff all Gallente AR's, but more specifically the TAC. Give it less range but higher damage, this is how the Gallente weapons should be and right now they are just outperformed in EVERY area by EVERYTHING. |

+1 buffs to the TAR
I'm one of those Gallente unicorns that runs a primarily Gallente fit. AR, Ion pistol, armour and reps for my Logi and my support assault fits. G heavy forge or medum PLC for AV.
I can't use the TAR for support fire because it's outclassed by every other race's rifles! That's my one fit where I have a SCR because it's just better. Longer range with higher damage and larger magazine. If the TAR was back to where it was, or could at least compete, I would be dedicated to it again.

With the changes to TTK the Tac AR no longer works well to give the AR class a long range option; the standard AR outpaces it at every turn.
Really, all the AR variants need to be re-examined. I've been running the Gallente commando a lot lately, but I can't find a variant of the AR that performs better than the vanilla at range.
I actually fully support giving the TacAR a charge shot too. It functions using the same tech as the Ion Pistol. Why can't it get a charge shot too?
It'd have the same mechanics as the Ion Pistol, so the ScR would still be able to beat it at the long range high alpha shots because they could actually have follow up shots.
Gal-mando. Because the best sidearm is a shotgun.
